Protels Crystal Beach Resort

The hygienic standards at this resort are very poor, particularly in relation to food. Guests are likely to experience stomach problems, which may result in having to spend part of their holiday confined to their room until recovery. It is also evident that the overall maintenance of the resort is not given adequate attention. During the night, the lawns are watered with what is claimed to be reclaimed water. However, based on the strong and unpleasant odor, it is clear that the water has not been properly treated. The smell is overwhelming, creating the impression of being in a large cesspool. This strongly suggests that the water treatment system is not functioning as it should. I can confirm this from personal experience, as I operate a similar system at home, and when properly maintained, it does not produce such odors.

Nice place and team especially reception, good food (a bit repetitive need more varity in lunch). Nice pool and rooms are fine.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this hotel in Egypt was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the standards were nowhere near what had been advertised online. The photos and descriptions on the website painted a completely different picture. The room we were given was outdated, poorly cleaned, and definitely not what we paid for. The bathroom was dirty, with mold in the corners and a constant smell of sewage. The bedding didn’t feel fresh, and the air conditioning barely worked. The food was disappointing to say the least. Most meals were bland, repetitive, and often served cold. But the biggest shock was the drinks – absolutely disgusting. The cocktails were undrinkable, made with cheap syrup and clearly low-quality alcohol. Even soft drinks tasted weird, like they had been mixed with tap water. On top of that, the staff was extremely unhelpful and seemed uninterested in solving any of the issues we raised. We felt ignored more than once, and there was no sense of customer care at all. The whole place felt dirty, both inside the rooms and in the common areas like the pool and restaurant. I would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone – do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I would rate the location of the hotel about the same as any other resort in the area. We didn’t understand why the pool closed at 6 p.m. when it was still light outside but you could no longer swim. Also, access to the sea was only via a pier. The food was repetitive. Around the pool, there were always people bothering guests with offers for services, which I think the hotel should prohibit. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating.

This hotel is very nice and big, it have two big pools and beautiful beach, also there is good kids pool and kids club, the food here is good and the evening programs are enjoyable, overall I would book this hotel again.
