Riad l'Atelier

Gorgeous place with the loveliest staff - we miss you all! Beautifully furnished room and comfortable bed with fluffy towels and robes, a fruit basket and fresh water every day. Breakfast time was flexible enough to allow a leisurely start or grab something if we had an early pick-up for one of our many activities! The room was impeccably clean (as were the towels) and genuinely the staff can’t do enough to make your stay magical. They arranged taxis, catered for my coeliac dietary requirements, even cleaned our room one day after my son had taken a 2 hour nap at lunchtime, they provided a lot of information up front, organised a driver to/from the airport and gave wonderful advice when we were purchasing a Berber rug in the souk. The Riad is about 10-15 minutes from Jemaa El Fnaa square and about a 3 minute walk from the nearest taxi drop-off/pick-up point.

Like many Riads in this busy Medina, there is no imposing frontage, but open the front door and the noise of the bustling city disappears altogether and it is replaced with a small oasis of tall trees, set in a courtyard, complete with a plunge pool, lit at night with candles. It is difficult to find fault with Riad L'Atelier. Its location is a couple of hundred metres away from a taxi drop on the fringes of the (generally) car-free Medina, close to the souks and a 10 to 15 minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square. The rooms, of which there are only a handful, are beautifully decorated, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast, which is varied every day, is delicious, and if you have dinner (arranged in advance), you will feel like a VIP at your small, candlelit table, set in the gardens on the rooftop. What makes this place even more special are those who work there. The warmth of their welcome and their constantly putting themselves out to ensure the nicest possible stay, was remarkable. It was very sad leaving them when it was time to move on. A big thank you to Hassan, Mohammed, Mustapha, Abdul, Saida and Rashida on their exemplary service. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This Riyadh is special. Not to mention building the building, the food and the plants were all wonderful like other worlds. Above all, the hospitality was the best, and they treated me like a family. It was the best Riyadh I've ever stayed. LOVE riad atelier♡

This place was great! But what's even greater? Mufasa. I can't say anything negative at all. This man knows and understands true customer service. He was so cordial and attentive. I forgot my scarf in the restroom downstairs, and this amazing man, got on his motorbike and met up with us to give it to me (we were on our way to the airport!). The room was lovely! They pay attention to detail and this is what made our stay so incredible. You must try their cold tea, it's amazing! Breakfast was SO good, we looked forward to it in the morning. It's easy to tell that a group of great minds (designer, chef, manager) got together and brought this little dream place to life.

This was our second visit to the Riad, and we can honestly say that we would not even think about staying anywhere else when we come to Marrakesh. The bedrooms are beautifully designed, the beds super comfortable, and the interior and exterior design creates a fabulous peaceful haven after a day out in the city… all of the staff are super friendly, kind and helpful, always able to help with anything you need. The breakfasts are the best you will find in Marrakesh and if you book dinner we can honestly say that the food can compete with the best in the city and is in many ways even better!

This really feels like you are staying in somebody's home - the staff are really friendly and very committed to making sure you have the best and most comfortable stay. We are vegetarians and we stayed at 9 different places during our stay in Morrocco (we went to the Sahara) and L'Atelier was by far the very best food. It was so fresh and beautifully cooked with incredible flavours. We were there for 4 nights and the breakfast was specially made for us and was completely different everyday. As 2 girls travelling Morrocco we felt very safe with the L'Atelier team and were always made to feel very welcome. They really took care of our every need. Nothing was too much to ask.
