Victoria Hotel

Clean tidy hotel room. Nicely decorated. The king size(maybe bigger) bed was extremely comfortable. The only down points were the windows let in a lot of cold air. Okay, the first night there was a gale force wind and secondly the windows I think were original Georgian single pain glass. The bathroom was very nice and also clean but the shower didn't fit the holder properly so I had to hold it when showering and there was a hole in the pipe that leads from the mixer to the shower head so water was firing out all over. Those are the only 2 points that were wrong with the room otherwise the room was fine so don't be put off.

Great view and close to all the Margate sights and the Turner Gallery. Very friendly and helpful staff and we had a good price for a 2 night family stay. We also found a terrific breakfast cafe just up the road. All good.

Happy with all aspects of my stay here. Room was clean and comfortable with all I needed for a one night stay. Only thing that needs attention is the online info which still says breakfast is included, but clearly has not been so for some time. Not a problem as plenty of places to eat nearby, but it would be better if this was clear when booking as it's not an arrangement that would suit everyone.

I literally used this as a stop over before starting a job early in the morning. I arrived around 21.45 and left at 06.00 so can't really comment on the facilities because I didn't get chance to use them. The room was perfectly fine, a little snug, but more than adequate. There were larger rooms, but I just wanted a cheap place to crash. Lovely pub just round the corner, serves what looked like nice food. I was too late to order, but had eaten anyway. Would definitely stay again and maybe have chance to try breakfast.

Great value for money, right on the seafront, whilst accessible to pubs and restaurants, and town centre. Spotlessly clean, with complimentary tea/coffee facilities

We arrived late and the night porter was very accommodating, including opening the bar so we could get drinks. The hotel isn't overburdened with facilities, which is good, because we then weren't tempted to stay in. Only food served seems to be a Sunday roast, for which we weren't around Although the hotel doesn't do breakfast, the Fort Cafe, which is a 3 minute walk does an amazing breakfast. The Hotel is very convenient for the old town, local pubs/ restaurants and the Turner Gallery, all only a few minutes walk. Street parking was quite easy.

Spacious room, and a good price. Would have been nice to have Breakfast as an option.

We booked this hotel around a week before we travelled as it had good reviews. I tried contacting the hotel by phone on several occasions over two days before booking but no one was answering the phone and my answerphone message wasn't responded to. That aside, the two ladies we dealt with on Reception on arrival and departure were excellent and the room was well furnished and modern. However, I did notice a layer of dust on the lamp base when I had the lamp on in the evening which did make me wonder how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The smoke alarm in the room was also missing it's cover and the lights were behaving a little strangely when switched on first thing in the morning (constantly dimming and then getting brighter for the first couple of minutes). These were just minor ******* but still annoying. We were also a little concerned that being on the top floor (third floor?) whether we'd get out in the event of a fire with no fire escape. I'm sure the hotel met fire regs but we were still concerned all the same. Overall, our stay was a comfortable one and the hotel has obviously had a lot of investment in recent years (it was presumably a former guest house?). One other thing to mention is parking. On street parking in the area was difficult to come by if you were looking to park close to the hotel. There is, though, a pay & display car park a couple of streets away.
