Exôtico Beach & Rooms

This was our second stay here this year. The rooms are spotless, well appointed, with a simple layout. Every room has a great little belcony where it is just a pleasure to sit in the evening. The grounds are well kept with lush vegitation. The restraunt has a limited menue, but the food is excellent. However the real magic of this place is the staff. Everyone is simply outstanding.

Super loud construction going on next door and no warning put out by the hotel. Rooms do not have blackout shades for all the windows and very bright. Photos of villas very misleading with all rooms being separate and not one building, living room is outside. Horrible customer, I’ve been left waiting hours to talk to the manager to find a solution. Save your money, Do not book here!

The hotel is certainly not worthy of the 5 star rating as it lacks small attention to detail, bigger rooms with little extras, more breakfast variety etc., however its certainly a solid 4 star hotel. Its quiet, not many rooms and hence people, in a beautiful location and is a close walk to the beach and Manzanillo national park. The room is fairly small, with not much room if you have two suitcases and lacks storage space. There is no door to the bathroom which could be a problem for some, including smells. The pool and the loungers are very nice. The restaurant wasnt the best, a lot of the fruit at breakfast had already gone past its best date, and was some of the worst fruit we had in Costa Rica. The main breakfast choices were good. Dinner was overpriced in out opinion, and we ordered some salmon which was served raw after waiting for 45mins...never had that before so had to send it back and wait even longer. We didnt go back to the restaurant after that and ate out.

This was actually our first hotel of our trip (made of 6 in total) and it could not have started any better. Not too sure why I had red a couple of so so reviews, trust me this hotel is a gem!! Great location if you are looking for peace and quiet in good distance to Puerto viejo, not too far not too close. It is next to Manzanilla beach, literally 500m walking distance. As we were jet lag we walked on the beach every morning before breakfast and we had the beach for ourselves!! If you are a light sleeper you may get woken up by the howler monkeys but we actually loved it as it really gave us this feeling of really being in the jungle and closer to the wildlife ! The hotel has been one of the best place for breakfast, with really good options and delicious home cooked bread. I would personally recommend their Caribbean eggs (if I am not mistaken) which you will experience all the Caribbeans flavours !! Hotel was pretty quiet, probably with the same type of people as us looking for a secluded and relaxed place. Special mention to Fabricio which straight from the beginning was super welcoming, friendly and giving us lots of information on the beginning of our trip. Room was very confortable as well as the bed, one of the best of our stay in Costa Rica. Only 2 small criticisms, the shower didn’t have much pressure and it was hard to find the right temperature and there is no door in the bathroom/toilet so for some couples that could be a downer ! However this does not make me change the full grading I am giving to this hotel which largely deserves it for its service, cleanliness, location, staff, food, etc. Lastly I just want to mention that Manzanillo beach was our favourite of the trip! Its black sand is extraordinary and the place feels still very authentic and natural!!

This is Not a 5 star property. I checked into this place few hours ago, only to find out that my room is on the outskirts of the property. The pictures online show the rooms surrounding the main pool area. To get to my room, I had to leave the lobby area, walk down a gravel road with my bags and enter through a side gate made of wires! The room is nicely decorated, but not very well thought out. My patio faces a road and even with the bushes they planted, I can see the people walking right pass my room (which means they can see me too). The toilet does not have its own door, so there is no privacy as you use it. Not 5 star at all. l began hearing construction noises from right beside my room and across from my room. I hoped that the room doors were sound proof, but alas, they are not! The attendant promised that the noise would stop shortly. It has, 2 fours later, it was still on. The shower head in my room is more like a sprinkler for a garden. Water pressure is super low and there is just one setting. No hope of not wetting my hair, as the water sprouts haphazardly. I can’t imagine that someone actually tested this shower head before installing it. Finally, the closet is huge and spacious. No complaints there. However, there ate no hangers to hand my clothes up. Thank God I only booked 1 night. Not a happy camper.

Excelente hotel para tomar un descanso re ponedor y absoluto ,tiene todo lo necesario pero sobre todo muy buena atención de sus colaboradores,gracias en especial a señor Fabricio por su buena disponibilidad siempre para atender mejor . Limpio ,agradable ,buen desayuno,buen bar y comidas .
