Malagas Hotel

The cleaning of the rooms were not good. Deep clening of showers is needed and rooms were not cleaned at all. Only beds were made and in 1 room the bed were not made one day. We did not receive clean cups a few days. Old cups were kept dirty in the rooms

Excellent food and services. It is an older hotel, well-maintained and with a lot of character. Beautiful setting.

We loved the idea of this being an enjoyable, green jewel in the middle of brown, dry terrain. It came close, but some things were some definitely missing. Neither room's shower had hot water when we arrived. The problem was fixed later, but obviously no one had checked that the rooms were ready. The little pool would have been nice for cooling off and goofing around, but it was so dirty there was no way you'd go into it. We hoped to go for a kayak or pedal-boat ride, but were told it was too windy. It was windier on the river than land, but seemed like four adults could've gone out for a short, safe ride. Maybe not, but our relaxing, riverside, swimming pool stay had no river and no pool and no showers (at first). Still, it's a nice oasis in the middle of a dry region, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was good and the bar is nice.

A relaxing break after a busy time. Very quiet environment. Perfect hostess. Friendly staff. Meals delicious. Rooms perfect. Can't complain about anything. 10/10 points

This is a delightful old style family hotel in a scenic and peaceful setting on the Breede river near Swellendam. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant food is delicious and the helpings are generous. There are many activities in the area and the birdwatching opportunities are plentiful with beautiful views of the river from the hotel. It is also not too far from the sea. An ideal retreat for nature lovers who want a break with a difference in this beautiful rural setting.

Nothing special. Lack of sleep due to poor room sound isolation, a view on powerlines as the best......spend your money in Swellendam or Bonnivale which are really lovely.
