Panorama Village Hotel

I had a wonderful time at Panorama Village Hotel in Crete! The entire team is incredibly sweet, friendly, and always smiling – they truly made my stay unforgettable. Special thanks to: Maria, the always-smiling bartender during the day – a true ray of sunshine. Her cheerful personality and genuine kindness made every visit to the bar a joy. Femis, the evening bartender – an absolute sweetheart with a warm soul. She was not only professional but also genuinely caring. Every evening, she welcomed us with such calm and kindness that it felt like catching up with a friend. Her cocktails were great, but her gentle presence was even better. Sofia, the sweet lady from the kitchen – warm and welcoming, you could taste the love in the food she helped prepare. Lucas and Ember – my daughter adored them! They are sweet, fun, and full of good vibes. The whole animation team was absolutely superb and kept the energy high every day. Their passion and creativity brought everyone together. The atmosphere at the hotel is warm and relaxed, the people make you feel at home, and the view is simply breathtaking – the kind you never forget. In general – I absolutely loved it and would happily come back again!

Relaxing music around the pool so you can snooze off after lunch rudely interrupted and disturbed by pointless loud music and the animation team dancing that NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN. Why do that when people are relaxing and sleeping? Can the team not see ? It's not full of children, it's adults who are trying to relax. If they look they could see this. The same happens in the morning when people are trying to relax. No guests join in which should tell the team it's unwelcome. The rest of the quiet greek music is lovely to relax to. This hotel is inaccessible for disabled customers but no where on the website does it state that. Rooms are very basic, not what you'd expect of a four star. Sockets hanging off the wall, room phone not working. We had a blanket in the wardrobe that was really smelly, goodness knows when it was last washed. No extra pillows and unable to ask for more as phone not working and reception being inaccessible. Tea/coffee facilities inadequate, no milk, no spoon. No full length mirror. Ladies there is nowhere suitable as a dressing table for light/ products. Many people saying they're put in a "temporary" room on arrival then having to move the next day. No welcome drink on arrival, if you arrive after 11pm you have to pay. You are given a couple of bone dry slices of bread with some sweaty cheese and some dodgy ham wrapped in plastic so nothing for vegetarians and totally unappetising for everyone else. We binned it and went without. Not enough sunbeds and definitely not enough umbrellas/sun shades which are sorely needed for the heat/ sun.

Staff could have been more nicer and respect everyone, the room was ok, cleaned everyday, the food was ok but I had more expectations from it, and I wish we had more activities included at the hotel.

Upon arrival the check in was unpleasant and the staff on the desk were rude. When you got to our room it has an unpleasant smell, the aircon was very poor. The food was very below par and there was very little selection. All of the salads were very dry and seems to have been sitting for a few days. It was impossible to get a sunbed by the main pool, people are waking up at ridiculous times to get a bed. We even sacrificed a few morninsg to attempt to get a bed. Yet by the time we went to the pool our towels were moved and we couldn’t get another bed. Reception weren’t even attempting to help us with that situation There are 2 other pools where they are less busy but there is zero entertainment and the toilets are very far away. The entertainment was fairly good. Location is not great, very few restaurants/bars nearby if you didn’t want to eat the buffet you didn’t have much choice Other a positive note the hotel looks modern and seemed to be clean. Apart from that I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel as we had more bad to say rather then good things

NOT a 4* hotel. WiFi went off 5x a day. Hugely overcrowded. Can’t get in the pool? Got shouted at off a cleaner.. —— The WiFi is so temperamental so if you need to do a bit of work here, it’s really poor. Constantly in and out every single day. The cleaners missed something new every single day, 1 day the bins, 1 day missed toilet roll, there was never fresh mugs, we had to wash ours, and no sugar or spoons in the room (yet a kettle?).. no water in the fridge either. That’s not 4* star. It felt so lazy for the cost. And when I went to get toilet roll from reception, a cleaner came to my door and shouted at me in Greek as I must have got her into trouble?… which was so rude… we just needed toilet roll and she’d missed it so I went to get some! All the above is minor in relation to how overcrowded the hotel felt, there’s people everywhere ALL the time, queues for everything, even the pool was like a packed public pool constantly, couldn’t swim or enjoy it. I love pools on holiday, it’s one of my favourite parts, and I didn’t even get in it. For them to open it just 8hrs a day means everyone just piles in it when it hits 10am and opens, it really doesn’t work, never experienced a pool as overcrowded as that before. Barriers around an empty pool all morning and evening just felt so lazy and unnecessary. We had our daughter and a pram and we had to pick the pram up everywhere, there’s no lift / or ramps for any floor.. not one… again that’s not 4*. In terms of value for money it felt so lazy, I’d rather be in a 3* hotel I could enjoy, than a 4* hotel so overcrowded I couldn’t enjoy it. This felt way too lazy, overcrowded, and overpriced to be a 4*

Overall, we had a good stay at the hotel. The food was absolutely amazing – plenty of variety, fresh ingredients, and something for everyone. One of the best parts of our trip was the stunning view from the hotel: we could see the beautiful blue sea stretching for miles, with breathtaking sunsets in the evening. The short walk to the beach was also really enjoyable – peaceful, scenic, and great for a relaxing start to the day. However, there were a few issues that took away from the experience. The biggest frustration was the daily battle for sunbeds. There simply weren’t enough for the number of guests, and people had to wake up at ridiculous hours just to reserve one with a towel. It was honestly stressful and not what you expect from a relaxing holiday. Another letdown was the lack of things to do for young children – especially those aged 0 to 4. There were only two small swimming areas suitable for little ones, but they had no attractions, toys, or shade. The kids’ play area was a huge disappointment: about 85% of the toys were broken and unsafe, and it clearly hasn’t been properly maintained in a long time. It really needs to be replaced if it’s going to be advertised as a family-friendly feature. Room service was okay, but the cleanliness definitely needs improvement. We found hairs and dead flies in the bathroom when we arrived, which made the space feel unclean. I had to wear flip-flops in the shower because it felt so unhygienic. A proper deep clean using disinfectant like Domestos is badly needed. In summary: beautiful setting and excellent food, but the hotel really needs to improve cleanliness, facilities, and family-friendly features to match its advertised standards.
