Atlantica Akti Zeus Hotel

Just recently returned from a fabulous 2 weeks at Atlantica Akti Zeus hotel. My 5th visit to Crete, expectations were high due to great reviews and we were not disappointed. We arrived late and were given food boxes as we had missed dinner, very thoughtful and welcome. Our room was a swim up family room with dividing doors, perfect for extra space. There is a patio area along with a sunlonger area in front of the swim up pool, ours shared with 8 rooms and we often had it to ourselves, so this is a must treat to upgrade to, especially if you want to withdraw from busier pool areas. The main pool areas are the hub of daily activities with music and games throughout the day, from there is access to the beach with loungers, no extra costs and always available loungers as you are not permitted to hog them and leave them. I did see a couple at 6:45am bringing towels down to hold loungers though, but if no bag evidence or people around you are able to lift them as there are signs prohibiting this. Pool towels are availiable and changed every 2 days from the spa, no need to bring one. The pros of the hotel: Amazing all inclusive restaurant with gorgeous fresh food, vast variety and themed nights. So much choice and even catered for the fussy individuals who have "limited" palettes too. Sofia is a wonderful hostess always present with a geniune smile for everyone. Bars serve lovely array of drinks, special shout out to Georgeos the barman at the Ocean bar who was so very friendly. Hardworking staff, all the staff you see are working very hard to keep the hotel spotless and serve you to the best of their ability, it is much appreciated. Lovely pool areas and access to beach a huge plus Water park at far end of hotel was great for the kids with no wait times and daily visits were essential, my son made great friends with the lifeguards Special suprise delivery of a birthday cake for my daughter who celebrated whilst seh was there really made her day. Very comfortable rooms, good storage for 4 peoples' clothing, bathroom well equipped, no need to bring shampoo, showergel, conditioner or body lotion as its all there. The beds were super comfortable for great sleep quality. The Spa was very nice, I had a body scrub and full body massage which was very nice. Cons: a personal issue but the light for air con in room super bright so a tip would be to place a baseball hat over it! The kids club seemed quite quiet, ours were a bit old for it anyway but younger ones may be dissapointed, also there is one little playground, but perhaps another near the green area of main pools could be nice for families with smaller ones. The supermarket on site is on site expensive compared to any outsidem but it is convenient for those not wishing to venture further. The evening entertainment could be a little better as some nights it wasnt great. Not a hotel issue but be prepared like all destinations to encounter rude people who will literally walk through you at the buffet are

Generally the best hotel I've ever been. Everything just perfect. Especially patio- bar and barmans .Odyssey ,one of the kindness man behind the bar. Trully smiling , kind and he made the best drinks ever .;)

Lovely hotel. Lovely staff. Food was amazing. Would 100% recommend. Used blue lagoon outside hotel for excursions. Recommend quad safari and jeep safari. Water sports on beach also brilliant. Son really enjoyed the massage at hotel too.
