The hotel itself is excellent, including the infrastructure and hygiene. However, as a five-star hotel, the Karen reception and racist staff are not professional and unacceptable.

Charming hotel in a castle. Nice rooms with very comfy bed and premium toiletries. Central courtyard for breakfast and on site parking. Outside of town and a good 20 minute walk to the waterfront and 40 mins into the town centre. No gym.

The room was lovely, the staff in the restaurant was lovely as well. However, the overall service is way too far from a five star hotel. Weirdly, the reception knocked our door in the morning twice without calling on the phone, we were very surprised. When we left, the staff drove their shuttle bus to cut our way which is very surprising as well.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel, which looks like a castle! The location, slightly outside the city, offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and discreet, ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the overall ambiance of the place. It felt like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Lovely hotel up in the hills of Malaga. Small pool area but spectacular views and lovely courtyard for breakfast and evening drinks/ dinner. Nice walk along the promenade into the city & short walk down to beach for morning swim. Lovely ambience.

My partner and I stayed at this beautiful, historical, romantic castle for just one night. Unfortunately, I was battling a cold, so I couldn’t fully enjoy this stay. However, the staff were so gracious to allow us to check in hours early so I could nap, and even made an off the menu soup for me to help me recover. Given this castle’s rich history and past life as a hospital, it’s no wonder they took such good care of me! I will be returning here for another holiday where I am hopefully not battling any ailments so I can fully appreciate the beauty and delicious food. My partner, who ended up eating dinner on his own, said it was one of the best meals in the most romantic setting :) (The most romantic you could get dining alone!)

The location was great; fabulous views & close to the sea. The doormen, Manuel & Mamadou were very helpful. Everywhere was super clean. The only thing that let this hotel down was the breakfasts, the dishes we ordered were very slow to arrive (or didn't come at all). The yogurt had cornflakes sprinkled on it and I asked for coffee con leche but twice was served a cappuccino. A buffet style breakfast, such as we've had in other 5 star hotels in Malaga would have vastly improved this experience.

This has been one of the best holidays we have ever had! The ambience of the hotel is sensational...partly built around an old Moorish style Fort, the developers have created an oasis of calm, with alfresco dining to the fore. From the hilltop location there are extensive views to the nearby coast, with beaches less than 10 minutes walk away. Well spread out seating areas allow guests to indulge in quiet reading or peaceful relaxation surrounded by potted palms and plants. Topping the bill is the team of friendly and ever courteous staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. In many ways it is invidious to pick out individuals from such an accomplished team...but we were especially impressed with Manuel. Maria and Alberto. We will return!

Staying at the Castillo de Santa Catalina is a most wonderful experience. The hotel is located in the best residential area of Malaga, which in itself is good as it is very quiet and, if you do not feel like going to the city centre, you can have a very pleasant walk in the area. The hotel is very stylish, the rooms are very well-appointed, with furniture that fits in harmoniously with the architecture of the castle. Chopard toiletries are one of the many nice touches. The best about the hotel are the excellent people who work there. The staff are very cordial and welcoming, nothing is too much for them. I had many nice and touching surprises, like being offered some delicious home-made chocolate cookies as a compliment from the establishment. The staff offer a highest level of service, on a par with the overall excellent experience of staying in this truly luxurious hotel. I will definitely return some time in the future and will be very happy to see all the wonderful, friendly and cordial people who work there!

We absolutely loved this place! We were at the end of our trip and wanted a quiet place to relax, read, and eat well! Everything was amazing. Very small hotel in a quiet neighbourhood, far from the noise and with great views. It's a 10-15 minutes wlak to the beach, 30 minutes walk to Malaga, but for us it was absolutely worth it.
