Futurotel Malagueta Beach

From a travel point of view this alternative lifestyle hostel/Capsule hotel is a refreshing change from the norm . I have stayed several times mainly because I love Málaga and the Malagueta Playa is so convenient for many attractions ~ Muelle Uno and the Port,restaurants and bars and 15 minutes walk to the fabulous Alcazaba, Teatro Romana Amphitheatre and Gibralfaro Mirador entrance and the Historic Quarter. I enjoy most of the facilities of Futurotel and am Hugely impressed at the Hard Work of the ' Small' staff team of dedicated people Recently I heard that 3 staff members were summarily dismissed by the Cash oriented conscienceless Owners/ Management . I understand the Reception team have joined the Union to support their very clear case for Employees terms and conditions and fare pay. I wish them every success because it's the Reception/Housekeeping team that makes the Futurotel a success. I URGE any Clients/Guests to consider this and Question the Punitive activities of the owner against this hard working Hotel Family. It was awful, the “room” was really uncomfortable and l have heard everyone and everything that was happening outside, the breakfast was disgusting because it was not fresh they served only bread/milk and cornflakes that they took from cupboard where it was keeping for a while. Service was not nice as well because they didn’t warn us about checking out time and charged money from us. We asked if we can wash our clothes and one guy wanted money for that (as he said let’s do it but cameras don’t need to see that) Strongly don’t recommend it!

Great technology, but can be a little noisy. It is like spending the night on the nostromo.

I think this place complements my crazy travel lifestyle. This week is my eighth Stay..the style of hotel on offer here doesn't suit us all but it's Merits hugely compensate for it's quirkiness..the amenities speak for themselves so if they appeal ~ give it a try. For me personally ,I call here ( on my Spain travels) to see the team, who are more like a family for me. They are a huge asset for the Hotel (and for me personally ) and warm my heart when I visit. I have no idea who the lucky owner/boss is but he should respect them , appreciate them and pay them well. Franchise owners can be greedy little men.. it is real people who earn the money. My Bars in the Costas and Canarias are happy and successful because the family/staff are happy and RESPECTED..

Inside at bed it was between 26-28 degrease temperatur. You had to sleep with open shelter/door in cabin. Most likly there is not a aircondition installed in the bedroom and you need of this reason to keep the door open. This due to a common aircondition is installed in the roof for the room where all bedroom shelters are installed. Not any good solution. Not much sleep for us. It was brought up several times.

Fantastic Experience. My children (6&8) absolutely loved staying in the capsules. We used the jacuzzi one evening to relax of which we all enjoyed. My son (8) enjoyed the gaming Zone. The staff were wonderful. Friendly, happy, chatty. The staff went out of their way to help you & worked hard everyday to ensure 5* quality was given. The beach was minutes away and local transport was within walking distance. (Bus&Train) Thank you for an enjoyable stay. Zoe, Alex, Jake & Summer x

When I originally booked this stay (on ***********), the ad made no mention of this being a capsule hotel. What is more, the email which confirmed the booking described the accommodation as a "Deluxe Queen Room". It turned out to be a Japanese-style pod, with a tiny cubby-hole next to it for storing my luggage. It was completely unsuitable, but the hotel refused to refund my money, claiming that the advert was clear that it was a capsule hotel. When I checked, this was true, even though the version I originally saw did not make this at all clear. I would urge anyone else considering this hotel to make sure they are happy to stay in a plastic box and use communal toilet and shower facilities.

Futurotel is a totally alternative experience from normal hotels/hostels..I have slept on dry mud floors in the bush in Africa and 2*~ 5* Hotels all over the world . However discovering this Capsule style of holiday living was my greatest stroke of good fortune. The facilities are ideal for families , children and couples and solo older travellers just like me .it's ideally placed 5 minutes from La Malaguet Playa and withinin easy short walks reach of the Harbour and the wonderful historical cultural attractions of this fabulous city. On a personal note I can't wait for next Month and my 4 th stay because I have grown to adore and respect all the staff for their professionalism, hard work, patience , good humour and individuality .
