From the moment our buggy wound its way up the lush hillside to our Ocean View Villa, it became clear that Four Seasons Seychelles would redefine luxury hospitality. Perched dramatically above Petite Anse bay on Mahé island, this resort masterfully blends Creole architecture with modern sophistication. The Villa Our Hilltop Ocean View Villa proved to be a private sanctuary in the sky. The sprawling 184-square-meter space featured vaulted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that framed the Indian Ocean's infinite blue expanse. The real showstopper was our infinity pool, seeming to merge with the ocean horizon. Mornings began with coffee on our wooden deck, watching fruit bats glide between takamaka trees while tropical birds provided nature's soundtrack. Views That Take Your Breath Away The elevation of our villa offered unparalleled views of the horseshoe bay below. Each sunset painted the sky in spectacular hues of orange and pink, reflected in both our private pool and the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. The strategic positioning of the resort ensures that every glance outward delivers a photo-worthy moment. Beach Paradise The descent to Petite Anse beach – while steep – rewards visitors with one of the most pristine stretches of sand in the Seychelles. The powdery white beach is embraced by granite boulders on either side, creating a secluded cove. The waters are calm and ideal for swimming and snorkeling, with the resort providing complimentary equipment to explore the vibrant marine life. Impeccable Service The staff epitomised Four Seasons' legendary service culture with their intuitive attention to detail. Our villa attendant anticipated needs before we even realized them, while the beach team was always ready with fresh towels and cold water. The concierge crafted perfect excursions, from hiking through Morne Seychellois National Park to arranging sunset cruises. The Spa Experience Set high in the hillside, the spa deserves special mention. My treatment room opened to a private deck overlooking the ocean, where the sound of waves complemented my massage. The therapist's expertise with local techniques and ingredients – particularly the coconut oil-based treatments – created a deeply relaxing experience that left me floating back to our villa. Dining The resort's restaurants deliver exceptional culinary experiences. Kannel's seafood specialties and Creole-inspired dishes particularly impressed, while ZEZ's breakfast spread, enjoyed with panoramic ocean views, became a daily highlight. The in-villa dining service made several moonlit dinners on our terrace unforgettable. Where do I start… The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places to visit with its beautiful waters from the Indian Ocean and its beaches. The Four Seasons has one of the best locations on the Island without question. I've visited several Four Seasons Resorts now over the past few years, and this one did not disappoint. The brand has mastered the art of providing a wonderful guest experience. The Staff here are truly amazing, I can't tell you just how nice and friendly they are. Management are clearly driven by making your stay into something to remember. A true test of this is if you do have a problem, they move heaven and earth to deal with it. The restaurants are excellent. Steak Shak is certainly worth a visit and the Indian food they have introduced at one of the bars is very good, but for me, the best night was Creole night. The food, drink and traditional dancers made the evening something special. Buggy’s take you around the resort and there are always plenty at hand, so almost no waiting. The Beach put simply is Heaven. White soft sand, and crystal clear water combined with a clear blue sky make you feel you couldn’t be anywhere better in the world to relax. The Staff are the star of the show. They are so friendly and helpful. You feel relaxed and comfortable. There is nothing I can add that’s a negative, my only advice is to be mindful that there are a few villas (only a few) with a large number of stairs to the room. I would avoid these if you have a health condition that limits your mobility. You may also want a pool that’s exposed to the sun, as they are not heated. If they are covered in the shade the water temperature can be a little cool. However, my experience is if you contact the resort beforehand, they will do everything they can to accommodate you.
