Bad idea. It’s for children not for travellers wanting to enjoy the amazing local sites. The cabins have thin walls so you hear plenty from your neighbours. The room was not serviced on the second day. The shower leaked all over the floor. There was no spare toilet paper in the bathroom and it took two requests to get a new roll. The restaurant offered a bland breakfast in a bland room. Was there anything good? Nice outdoor seating

It’s a beautiful resort and the gardens are well kept, the aviary is amazing and birds well cared for and have plenty of room to fly, the rooms are spacious if a little spartan, and shower is great although hot water can be a bit hit n miss. We only had lunch as the restaurant windows are all covered with film so you can’t see the lovely garden which is a shame and so lacks atmosphere- food was ok - just average - breakfast likewise was adequate although no option for eggs other than omelette and no black tea or coffee. When we checked in we were told the rooms we had booked (superior) were not available- we had booked and paid for these as they had private sit outs, only when after nearly an hour and asking for a refund did they suddenly find the rooms were available. But one thing I would say is to be aware of flies which are everywhere so sitting out isn’t that comfortable after all! There are two pools and a child’s pool which are nice and clean if full of leaves. Only two sun beds though for the whole resort. It’s a nice 15/20 min walk down to the town turning left out of the entrance. It’s a shame as with only a few adjustments it could be lovely, but the attitude on arrival really spoiled it for us, blaming Agoda for the mistake and telling us to take it up with Agoda was not helpful- really felt like they were scamming us. Finally took 7 attempts to get a toilet roll for the room, and only one chair on the sit outs, which disappeared the next day so we had to put it in the room . I don’t think I’d go back sadly, due to flies and attitude

Bodhi woods has wooden Swiss challet type rooms and cottages. They are neat and clean - property itself is very small - so not a resort as it seems to be marketed. We went as a family and stayed here. Pros : neat, clean, decent sized rooms. Hard working staff at restaurants as well as housekeeping. Cons : Few glaring issues we faced - 1. They don't have sense of separating Veg-Non VEG food containers. We were shocked to see vadas and chicken kept in same container !!! The staff looked like did not know it should be kept separately. Forget Veg- Non VEG dishes being labeled or kept separate at a distance, first time, I saw VEG n non VEG in same container !!! We are vegetarians and my wife didn't eat anything till evening even outside post this episode !!! No apologies, no corrections from hotel - because there is no managerial staff who has sense to deal with such things and train the staff, put processes in place !!! 2. The activity room has ZERO ventilation - it's like a sauna sitting there. No windows 😫 3. My room phone was out of order - despite telling within an hour of checkin, it remained unresolved till we checked out 2 days later. 4. Wifi - wasn't working. Was told whole property, it was down and never came back during our stay. Phone network isn't great here so without WI Fi it's an issue. 5. My bathroom had half feet water after my shower 😞, water clogging. Am sure previous guests would have complained on this too since the guy who came to fix told that some plumbing work was done weekend - they didn't check if it fixed issue. 6. Breakfast place is very crowded on weekend. Overall it's a neat property but horribly miss-managed. If you want a nice experience, this is NOT a place. I actually changed from Marriott OMR to here post looking at the good reviews thinking it will save time in commute (this was more money than Mariott discounted rate btw 😀) but felt hugely disappointed with the set up. The Veg Non VEG issue was the last straw !!! Will never ever think of this place again !!!

The stay was very pleasant. The staff were hospitable. Food was good. An excellent choice for stay with kids, they have a kids play area, lots of indoor games, karaoke, badminton, swimming pool (separate for kids as well) and a bird sanctuary inside the resort, which is very well maintained.

Excellent location near to all main attractions in mahabalipuram. Perfect for family holidays. They can arrange for auto or car for sightseeing. Restaurant food is tasty but you have to order in advance as they prepare it fresh and might take time for preparation

Cleanliness - 5/5, location - 4. 5/5 food- 4/5. The stay has been very good, i must say these cottages are designed just perfectly, very neat and clean and superbly maintained. Only drawback i see is there are transportation means to go to the market area if you dont have a vehicle. Food choices are minimum but nice food. Shashank does cook well. The operations manager is very helpful, goes above and beyond to help. In general, all the staff has been good. I highly recommend for large families or groups. I wanted to relax and i thoroughly enjoyed. To the owner- please have a electric vehicle or auto which guests can use as extra paid service.

Overpriced for standard room. Room and resort is very small. Its not worth your money. Check marutham resorts promoted by same group. Its really good.
