Cooks Club Calvia Beach - Adults Only

Easy check in. Perfect location. Wonderful views from the sea facing rooms. Very close to Magalluf ***** but also within walking distance of bars and restaurants of Palmanova. Bit of a steep hill in front of the hotel, but manageable if mobile. Food and drinks in the hotel of good quality and reasonably priced. All staff are very friendly and accommodating, particularly Ian, the manager, who makes a point of speaking with every resident during the day, around the poolside. Resident DJ plays chilled tunes all day beside the pool. I would definitely recommend this hotel for adults of all ages, and will definitely return again soon. Thank you.

I was a guest at this hotel for 10 days , the receptionist were very welcoming and helpful, the room I had was so comfortable , cleaned every day it was spotless. The dining room was relaxing, menu fabulous, staff were lovely to , I would definitely go again in the future.

Great stay. Warm and friendly staff all over the property. Nice clean room and a lot of nice areas to chill and relax in. Clean surfaces everywhere. Poolarea excellent - plenty of sunbeds. Clean, soft ambiance with very good music from the DJ and precisely sound level. Breakfast nice but one thing - a little more of fresh veggies. Overall - excellent, friendly and welcoming a**osphere. Ian one of the directors/managers is very visible and makes sure everyone has what they want and feel comfortable. We can only say: Good Vibes Only

I can not recommend a hotel enough! The manger Ian welcomes everyone and makes a point to stop by all guests to see if there is anything more that he is able to offer with, not only this his work ethic is something to be admired as he does not stop. The hotel is amazingly clean and tidy the staff are absolutely fantastic the bar men were so friendly and chatty but my biggest impressiveness is the life guard! He is fabulous to anyone needing assistance around the pool or getting in or out the pool he was there to help. The hill is a work out but the relaxing pool side and restaurant makes the hill worth every step. You will not be disappointed we will be booking again! The food is amazing and lots of options too.

Pros... The inside of the hotel was spotless. Like literally super clean. The bed was comfy, pillows great. One of the best showers, powerful. Food was great. Drinks are premium drinks. Bar tenders are so nice and friendly. Manager is the same, always said hello. Sunloungers were the best loungers we have ever used. Super comfy. Pool toilets were spotless. They have a security guard also as beside the *****. 5 mins to *****, 5 mins to palmanova which we preferred. Beach is 2min walk and so nice. British pubs within 1min of the hotel, but down a very steep hill. Also show British football games. Cons... For me half board should be bed, breakfast and dinner. Instead they give you €18 daily. Which we weren't told when we arrived (at 2am!) That this was your dinner money. So when we arrived to order our dinner the 1st day (no buffet, its ALL made to order food), we were told to use our wristbands to pay for the food. Which we already used at the bar as I said wasn't previously explained to us. It's a cashless hotel, so you have to go to reception and put money on your wristband daily to spend anytime in the hotel. Incl the bar, snacks etc. Even morning coffees from the batista machine you have to pay! We found this shocking tbh. Half board wasn't cheap and it was alot of extra money to pay daily! Snacks also, for 4 chicken satay skewers, €10! Breakfast, the hot food for eg. Sausages/hash browns and beans are cold. They are made in batch, but don't sit on a hot plate, so time you come down its your Donald duck if its warm or not. And didn't see any microwaves to heat it up, saying this everything we ate was delicious and I didn't mind eating it like warm/cold as it was good quality food. The pool is cold. I couldn't last more than 5mins. Maybe in peak weather it would be perfect, but highest temp we gotnwas 24'c. But more importantly was the bird mess. Their is a seagull problem, they love washing themselves in the pool. And make an awful mess beside the pool. It wasn't mopped near enough, and the lifeguard is there all day (no kids at this hotel so could easily keep this maintained!) And it was like dodging bullets some days if it got you on the lounge whilst sunbathing, seen someone go in the pool to wash it off! Was my biggest pet hate.... something diff needs done about that. The hill is steep to the hotel. I found it OK, yes I was puffed at the top but I didn't mind, whereas my family member had to stop a few times to get her breath back, its a cardio workout for sure! Young ones do use the hotel to go out down the ***** etc, I didn't find it overall noisy but you can hear them sometimes, the ***** is at the back of the hotel so you can hear yelling, and music. The slingshot is right beside the hotel too but I enjoyed sitting and watching it. Overall would I come back... prob not. As the cons unfortunately outweighed the pros, but we did enjoy our stay. If we ever did come back, would be bed and breakfast. Defo not worth half board!

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times when it was the hunalulu and was very apprehensive about returning I am returning again this year but the only thing I hate is the hill but when you’re under the influence of alcohol it seems like a wee jog the food was amazing still don’t understand the half board I’m used to all inclusive and only went B&Ms last year I’m half board this time and apparently you get a band with credit on it😂

Modern and clean … good food apart from the lady licking her fingers whilst cooking! Friendly bar staff but a lifeguard who was more interested in his hair and telling you that you can’t drink your water because it wasn’t from the hotel, rather than policing the paralytic drunk guys and bleeding legs in the pool. Lots of young groups in the pool (as you’d expect) playing with balls - it’s a shame they couldn’t keep them in the pool. Unfortunately no pool DJ or music around the pool. Make sure you bring your ear plugs (club ***** right next to the hotel and with a ride that goes all night) and bring your own iron - only 4 irons for 300+ rooms!

This hotel has bags of potential to be outstanding. However, the hotel is not quite the finished article. The staff are lovely, just not enough of them, check in took a while as we were a large party. The bar/hospitality staff were great, just not enough of them, so we had some waiting to do, the hotel was not full, so hopefully they’ll get this issue resolved before they reach high season & full capacity. The quality of the food & drinks was lovely, I’ve rediscovered my love of cava😜the rooms were great, take one with a pool view as you also get a fabulous view of the harbour. The beds were clean & comfortable, I took earplugs but didn’t need them. This hotel is in a fantastic location, just be aware it’s at the top of a hill, which means you get great views & thigh/calf muscles😆 All in all, great location, beautiful pools, fantastic sun beds, comfy clean rooms & beds. Lovely staff & food/drinks. Iron out the teething problems & this is a winner. I would re book if I ever come back to Magaluf. Thank you for a great 5 days.
