Decided to stop off here on the way home following a trip to Cornwall. I write this in the bar just having dined and cannot believe the quality of meal we have just had. Thoroughly outstanding from welcome to ambiance to service and the food itself. Well done all.

Liked · Excellent staff - attentive, helpful, efficient. Even though we had forgotten to book dinner for our first night, they happily fitted us in. It was great to be able to park in the hotel's car park - this was the deciding factor when we booked. The restaurant was nice. And when I booked, I hadn't realised that they also have a bar, so that was a bonus. I loved being in proper Welsh Wales - I discovered that the first language of most of the younger staff is Welsh. And Porthmadog is a great base from which to explore the area. Disliked · We were there three nights, but they couldn't manage to stop the bed (on casters) from wandering around the bedroom as if impelled by a poltergeist. Also (I forgot to mention this to the hotel) we didn't feel very private in the room, because the door had a small decorative pane of clear glass - so we kept thew curtain closed, which was not ideal. But we would definitely recommend the hotel, and stay there again.

The somewhat dingy outside does not reflect the fabulous, bright and tasteful interior. As my husband was ill and needed to use a wheelchair we were moved from our original superior room on the first floor to a courtyard room with disabled facilities. Not only was this room ideal it was cheaper than the room originally booked but every bit as special. We have stayed in many supposed luxury rooms that have been nowhere as good as this one. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and food delicious. Would certainly recommend and would stay again.

Great value Clean and comfortable beds Comfortable rooms Great breakfast Staff were very friendly and obliging Parking was a little tight but otherwise the whole stay was first class I would definitely recommend especially for short stays

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, arranging a slightly early breakfast both days for me. All is clean and tidy and the room was comfortable. I didn't stay for dinner but the menu looked good and reasonable. Car parking is a bit limited but I found a space OK.

Great breakfast and friendly staff. Rooms clean and comfortable. Reserved a parking spot for the day/night to charge up the car, for full charge the cost was £17. This was our 2nd stay and it’s a good location, booked standard room and it was good for us, would stay again.

We received a warm welcome from Frances and Michael. All of the team were cheerful, helpful, friendly and very responsive to our needs. The hotel was in a good location with many of the local attractions within walking distance. The food was well presented and very tasty with generous portions. We felt it was very good value for money. Posting on behalf of my mum and her friend who stayed at the hotel in May

I booked in February, paid a deposit and received confirmation, both verbal and in writing, of a suitable ground floor room. 24 hours before I was due to arrive, I received an email stating that my room had been cancelled but they could offer me a first floor room ....... knowing that my mobility issues made it impossible for me to get access to the room. I'm angry and disgusted. Do not trust this hotel.

We initially only popped in for a drink after a long day's hike but were offered a table in the dining room for dinner, should we want it. We didn't really feel dressed for the place, but that didn't seem to matter. I'm glad we did take the table, as the food was fantastic. I had the lamb and my husband had a roast dinner (on a midweek night). The portions were excellent and fresh seasonal veg rather than everything with chips was a welcome relief. The staff were very professional and the restaurant was very nicely decorated. We wanted to come back another night but ran out of time, sadly. We hope to return to Porthmadog in the future and will definitely be calling in again.
