note that there are 2 Chaiyapol Homestays so it’s good to check with them prior. i booked a Standard Room (B2) via trip.com and thought the location - as per the map - was a 10mins walk from Mae Kampong Village. lugged myself + heavy backpack up hills to find out when i reached that the homestay was located at the village itself (great location, walking distance to all the shops but wish i knew earlier!) apart from that, had an absolutely lovely stay. the young staff spoke english and was really helpful and nice. room is nice and clean. snacks + drinks are available for purchase in the room but tip: bring your own mama noodles for mookata! they sell one set for 350 baht which i enjoyed eating outside at the balcony staff also asked if i would like to join the sunrise at Kew Fin + Mae Kampong Waterfall for 100baht/person; pick up at 5.30am. glad i went! it was beautiful. it gets chilly on top so you can also take the white “bed runner” in the room as a scarf breakfast is included and is at a separate restaurant, just a couple minutes walk from the accom, located at the cafe At-Mae-Kampong. it was a buffet spread with healthy options. absolutely loved the congee! it’s so good, must try overall had a very pleasant experience. definitely recommend! homestay location is great and value for money. good for a 2d1n trip. i booked shared transport via klook from chiang mai

location is superb, service is good, been taken care seen the time you arrive. you do not need to talk to the main street, which the hotel can help you order the transport thb 20/person/way. breakfast is good and simple. only weakness is when you stay will elderly with less convinience walking, because you need to walk down  a staircase for bathroom and toilet.

Probably the best home stay ever in my life. The room was super clean and can sleep by listening the waterfall song near my room. So chill.

Was looking forward to our stay after reading positive reviews but it was TERRIBLE. Our house was located beside the chicken coop, next to some sort of a pile of renovation stuff (right outside our main door). Our entire first floor was beside the walkway so it was super noisy (motorbikes, people walking by etc). The exterior of our home was dirty (chicken and dog poop) :( the bed and blanket made us itch, and only one slipper was provided for a two cubicle toilet. Plus point was that bfast and dinner provided were local and delicious, sunrise tour was enjoyable too!

nice view but location a quite far from the village. Staffs can’t speak English but can use google translate it was fun.

Wonderful home stay experience, great fun and hearty breakfast

We had a great stay in Mae kampong at chaiyaphol. The hotel is at the top of Renton, a fantastic ride on a scooter. Our room was next to the river and we had nature on our doorstep. I would recommend this hotel to people who don’t need a 5-star bathroom as it has a rural feel and the room is small, but the proximity to nature takes it very rewarding. Also meals are excellent at breakfast and dinner, and the free ride to watch the sunset in the morning was spectacular.

Nice location beside the river, a balcony with chair and table, I love it !
