I booked two double-bed rooms at President Hotel, Madurai through an online platform for a total cost of ₹7,000 (2x3500)and paid an advance of ₹5,000. However, one day before check-in that is 31st Jan 2025,the hotel called me and informed me that due to maintenance issues, they were unable to provide the rooms. Since 02nd Feb 2025 was a busy muhurtham (auspicious) day, I requested them to at least arrange one room for us. After multiple phone conversations, they finally agreed to provide a deluxe room at a charge of ₹5,000 (1x5000)per night. The next day, I checked in that’s 01st Feb 2025.The check-in process was smooth, but the hotel’s location was in a busy and congested market area. Upon entering the room, I was shocked by its small size—just 10x14 feet, including the washroom. The room had only a queen-size cot, leaving no space for an extra bed. I asked the room boy whether it was a standard or deluxe room, and he confirmed that it was a deluxe room. However, it was not worth ₹5,000 at all. Additionally, the closet and room door locks were very old and troublesome to use. Due to my disappointment with the room, I went out for my function, and after returning just four hours later, I decided to check out. I then booked a better hotel nearby and stayed there instead.
