Pier Blue Inn Old Saybrook - Essex

Most of these reviews give less than 5 stars because it’s outdated, which it is, but other than that I love my stay. I had no issues. Front desk staff were super friendly. Coffee machine in the room which was nice. Great area and location too, a lot of restaurants in walking distance. They are in the middle of renovations so keep that in mind but I’m excited to come back when it’s completed!!

Cute and reasonable priced rooms. Planned on one night and ended up staying for two nights.

Good basic roadside accomodations for travelers. Bed was comfortable. Very friendly staff at checkin.

Older property, not worth the price qe paid for it. The ac was extremely loud when it did work, which was not most of the time.

This is a no-frills hotel. However we had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in our room. VERY spacious. Staff were friendly and at the front desk when we needed them to be there. A lady came to our door once to see if we needed fresh towels (we were there for 6 days). We will stay here on a return visit. Thanks Pier Blue staff

Just what you need for a quick stay. Really great breakfast option across the street. Hard to get anything late.

No-frills hotel, but a convenient location, helpful, friendly staff, and a clean, quiet room with a fridge, coffee pot, and microwave. Good water pressure in the shower. Completely hassle-free stay and great for the price.

Very clean room, nice view of the costal area from balcony. They are under remodling so some areas were umderstamdaly rough. Bit the awesome staff find us the perfect room was appreciated. We will stay there again soon.

Prior to booking this location, I saw a review that basically stated this was an old Days Inn that they just put a new sign up and are trying to pass it off as a new beach area hotel, but after staying here (or lack thereof) this place is exactly that. The pictures they advertise on-line are not an accurate depiction of the poor condition of these rooms. For starters, our room had a terrible musky smell to it. The bed comforters had holes and stains in them. There were disgusting stains all over the inside of the front door. There was a huge dead on top of our air conditioner. And the bathroom had mold stains all over the top of the wall and ceiling. The shower head also had dirty and some sort of mildew around it. After only two hours, my family and I couldn’t stay there anymore and left early. The hotel hasn’t provided much of a resolution to accommodate the money we paid. At the end of the day, we paid for a reasonable and comfortable accommodation and we were not provided that. Please be aware of the condition of these rooms before booking.
