Waterview Motel Maclean

We stayed here on our last night of our 15 day motorcycle trip to Victoria from Qld. We stayed here on our last night 2 years ago on another motorcycle trip. There are new managers since our last stay Joy and Jeremy I must say they are 100% better. Check in was easy, rooms spacious and clean. Bathroom spacious and clean with a really good shower! We had everything we needed, tv, air-con, storage space for bags, chairs and table, fridge, comfortable bed and pillows, tea, coffee, sugar and real milk. There’s a pool, laundry, free wifi, smoking area away from the rooms but not to far for smokers. Then manager cooked our whole group dinner a Filipino feast at no charge and boy was it delicious and she insisted she cook us up a filipino breakfast also delicious. You just don’t get service like that these days. So friendly, so welcoming and happy to have you at their Motel. We had a room close to the main road but didn’t get woken by any traffic through the night and I’m a very light sleeper. You are walking distance to a service station less than 2 minute walk. I have to say I enjoyed my stay as did the rest of the 18 in our group booking. My husband and I will be back and we highly recommend Waterview Motel.

We had trouble operating the code system in the room however with some help we got there. Easy once you know how. Room was well appointed for our overnight stay. The Owner/manager was very obliging. Once again the bed was comfortable which gave us a good nights sleep

Excellent location to stay on a long road trip. EV chargers were incredibly convenient, owners are lovely and very helpful . Very close to shops and restaurants. The property has solar and batteries for those environmentally conscious people that are interested in environmentally friendly options. Will definitely stay here in the future

My second stay here and will be my absolute last. My first stay was quite pleasant and the staff helpful. The second one. I will start with the positives - good bathroom, work desk, air con and biscuits with tea & coffee. Now for the negatives the room I stayed in was absolutely exposed to the main road linking Maclean to Yamba & highway meaning a swoosh of cars no sleep for me as I'm a light sleeper, no milk for my tea & coffee after a long day I really wanted a tea & milk, the bed rolls moves around on its wheels they don't have locks, no powerpoints next to the bed and next to my room was an out of control family & group of people making noise until near midnight & again from 3am. I got absolutely no sleep. Lessons to learn - when booking never stay on a main through road and always avoid the places with family rooms as you get out of control groups or parents who can't quieten their kids. The managers when all the noise was happening were no where to be seen.

Well located motel a nice walk into town along the river. Very clean and comfortable. Off street parking. Maclean is a lovely town with nice cafes, a pub and bowling club. Some lovely boutique shops ad well. If you have Scottish heritage, look up your tartan and find your telegraph pole. The telegraph poles in the town have all been painted with a tartan.

I arrived after 6pm yet Jeff was very accommodating and made sure I settled in nicely. There was a welcome sign on my door making me feel valued. Jeff went out of his way to help me. The room may a appear a bit dated but the bed was good, lots of furniture & bench space, wifi worked brilliantly, a desk so I could work on my laptop, updated bathroom and basic kitchen essentials. I needed a bowl for my cereal and Jeff was happy to provide one. Despite being a light sleeper I did get a sound sleep and there’s very little road noise after 9pm. There’s mini bar for snacks and menu for made to order breakfasts at a reasonable price. A really pleasant stay. Thanks Jeff.
