I recently stayed at Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay for five nights with my wife and child. Tamouda Bay is about a 1.5-hour ride from Tangier airport. The resort premises are stunning, with well-kept gardens, flowers, trees, and beautifully maintained common areas. Having frequently traveled to similar resorts around the world, including Six Senses and Four Seasons, this was our first experience with Banyan Tree, and we were very eager to try this brand. We booked a Harmony Villa, which was extremely spacious, featuring high ceilings, a private garden with a pool, jacuzzi, long chaises, a sofa for enjoying Moroccan tea, and a dining area—all within the private confines of our villa. Our stay in early June, right before the high season, meant the resort was not crowded. Some facilities like the Buddha Beach Bar and beach gazebos were not open yet, but this did not impact our overall experience. The highlights for us were the people and the food, both crucial aspects of our travels. The staff, from reception to housekeeping, were exceptionally nice and ensured we had everything we needed. Omar at reception went above and beyond to solve any needs we had. We dined mostly at the resort's restaurants. At Tingitana, we had breakfast every morning and dinner twice. Breakfast featured a great selection, and although there was no buffet due to the off-season, we could order anything à la carte. They also brought us a Moroccan breakfast selection by default, including locally baked breads, charcuterie, cheese, and jams. The staff accommodated our dietary needs, ensuring we had everything we required. Rachida and her team, responsible for breakfast, made us feel at home and even gifted my wife and child beautiful Moroccan dresses, which delighted them. Dinner at Tingitana was equally impressive, with delicious tagine, couscous, and Moroccan salads. Farid, one of the staff, was particularly attentive to our child, enhancing our dining experience. For lunch, we visited Azura restaurant on the beach three times. The food was outstanding. As an Italian who grew up in Italy but has lived abroad for over a decade, I was surprised to find such high-quality Italian food. The seafood pizza was one of the best I have ever had, with a thin, perfectly cooked crust and top-quality ingredients. Chef Younesse's seafood pasta was also exceptional, rivaling dishes from great restaurants in Tuscany or the Amalfi Coast. Chef Younesse's background, having worked in a Michelin-starred restaurant in Marrakech under a renowned Italian chef, explained the excellent quality. Hicham, the manager at Azura, and his team were attentive, especially to our child, ensuring they had their food quickly and catered to all our requests. We also dined twice at Saffron Restaurant, enjoying a selection of exquisite Thai dishes. Overall, our stay at Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay was a delightful experience, thanks to the beautiful surroundings, excellent food, and especially the wonderful staff who ma
