Located a few mins from Place Bellecour and nicely situated between the Rhone and the Soane, this is a charming hotel, a jewel. It is opposite a beautiful basilica in a quiet part of town. The refirb is senstational with cool furnishings and tasteful, modern decorations. Reception staff are most helpful and polite. Breakfast here is sensational with an extensive range of hot and cold choices (sweet and savory) - a bit pricy but you won’t need lunch. The standard room is charming - get a view over the basilica - with great coffee, water and other bits and pieces available.

I had an absolutely delightful stay at your hotel. And a nice surprise was the Treserras art exhibit and reception on the evening of 21, March. Will definitely recommend Hotel de l Abbaye to friends and colleagues.

Beautiful, nice team, well located and very comfortable. The hotel is located in a very convenient place to reach many spots in Lyon and is a quiet place at the same time. The hotel is beautiful, located in a historic old building. The team is very nice. I didn´t have the opportunity to know the restaurant and the breakfast.

Although the old abbey has been completely renovated, it has kept its charm with portions of the old walls still visible. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The hotel has a large, modern elevator which was very much appreciated. Having never been to Lyon, I was a little concerned about its location. But, once there, we found everything convenient and within easy walking distance. The conceirge could not have been more helpful. He recommended a local, authentic bouchon which was only two blocks away and served real quenelle. And, because I had not booked a train to Annacey, he gladly made the reservation for us, which turned out to be no easy task. In summary, we would unquestionably recommend this hotel and its helpful staff.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Hotel de l'Abbaye on our recent trip. The room was spacious, had A/C, a well appointed, modern bathroom, a comfortable bed and very nice staff. The hotel was well located in a quiet neighborhood - just a few minutes from the local train station (not the Part Deux main station), a two minute walk to a main pedestrian and shopping area with patisseries and cafes great for breakfast and just a 10 - 15 minute walk to old Lyon. We highly recommend this hotel!

We wished we could have stayed longer. The room had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable, towels soft, and plenty of l'Occitane toiletries to indulge. Breakfast was superb. There's a nice bar, tastefully decorated. Staff were friendly and helpful. And, all in walking distance of the centre.

We are so happy we chose Hotel de l'Abbaye for our weekend getaway in Lyon. The place is located close to all the attractions Lyon has to offer and yet it is not in the middle of the touristic circuit so once in the room, cafe or restaurant, it feels very peaceful. The room was beautifully decorated, the personnel was great and very professional and the restaurant L'Artichaut serves the most delicious meals you can expect. We highly recommend it!

bright colors are good for visually impaired people, but a bright room has a calming effect to soul. This thing of seeing uniform colors such as patterns and such causes a sense of uniformity. All-in-All great service from the hotel employees, didn't like the guests so much but yea can't complain. One of the hotel guests from the room across mine whispered to his buddy "Should've taken her to Paris you fool" but is alright

Pos: This hotel is beautiful inside - the old abbey has been superbly converted and our room and en suite bath/ shower room were wonderful. The location is excellent for walking around the city. Cons: There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and only one bottle of water each for our entire stay (4 nights.) Tea served (at an added cost) in the lounge was tepid. My partner took me to Lyon for my 60th birthday, which he had notified to the hotel. This was not addressed by the hotel in any respect. We had a room over the street and there is an extremely noisy bar at one end of the street that kept us awake each night. I am surprised to read in other reviews of cakes in the room and parting gifts, as we received nothing of that sort and overall the experience felt as though the venue was rather curmudgeonly.
