hotel service is perfect. The view is phenomenal for Lakeview penthouse rooms. There are restaurant and bar by the lake, but a room service to the room and have dinner at balcony is even better. Ordering room service can be done via tablet, very convenient. But remember there are service charges for room service. Sadly is the room we checked-in was without a bathtub. Will consider to get the outdoor bathtub room next time.

As as Swiss, I never travelled much inside Switzerland. I am usually travel around in Asia, like Japan, Thailand, Taiwan. So I was seriously shocked how low quality the Swiss Hotels are. Besides this I was also in Interlaken, and have to say the hotels are mere Motel standard at a price tag from 300-500$ for 15m² not even clean. And it's not only this Hotel, many others around I had Lunch or Dinner are in such bad condition But to the "Art Deco" Montana... The best part is at the beginning. Reaching the entrance by a Cogwheel Car, is great, the lobby is nice as well and the terrace with lake view is beautiful. But then, comes the issue, the price changed, the day of the check in was 180$ cheaper for the same room than when I booked it. We didn't get any compensation which i didn't expect i Switzerland anyways, still a bit disappointed. But ok... off to the hotel room. The pictures prepared me to not have too much expectations but, the reality is just so heartbreaking worse. I stayed in cheap hotels for 80$ in China or Thailand with same standard. The Dyson Hairdryer didn't save the impression. We were the first 30 minutes really depressed, sitting on the bed full of regrets going to lucerne. It's all so cheap made for that price. Well, we recovered and left the hotel for travel. But bottom line, the cheapest hotels in Switzerland are barely worse than the range from 400-600$ like the Montana. If wanna luxury, better opt for those instagram famous Hotels for 1200$ + Anything else is all the same low standard. Side Note: In Switzerland 3-4 Stars Hotel Minibar is not free.

A great hotel situated just at the hill, with a great view of the lake. Can be a tad expensive, but the hotel is high tech and the rooms are comfortable, warm and feels like home. Love the duck in the bathroom too!

Great experience! This hotel is located on a hill above the city, take a funicular from the lobby to the street, where you can walk to the city center or catch transportation. The room was comfortable and roomy. Mini bar and coffee maker included. I especially loved the spacious bathroom, with freestanding tub and bath salts. Gorgeous views of the city and balcony were so enjoyable. Great place to stay! And the breakfast restaurant had beautiful big windows with views of the city and lake.

Beautiful place to round out a wonderful vacation. Beside the view, the people are all friendly, courteous and ready to please my every desire. Convenient to many great places to see.

We stayed in room 501. Lovely views, quite a large balcony, light and airy bathroom also with views. Reception and concierge were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was good, with most of the usual offerings, but was quite pricey for what it was. The breakfast terrace with views over the lake was great. Service was efficient and friendly. A couple of observations. Our room had only limited wardrobe space, and nowhere to hang a normal length dress! My wife had dresses hanging in the bathroom off the robe hooks! Also, some guests obviously stay there as part of a tour. Luggage was collected at 5am one morning, quite noisily. Ask for a room away from any tour group rooms if you’re a light sleeper.

Although we didn't have much time at this hotel due to a long delay on a flight, this hotel was amazing! It is very modern decor - white, black and red. There is a charming, chic little bar by the reception that I would have loved to have a drink in. The restaurant has huge windows overlooking the city, and there is outdoor seating on a nice day there as well. The breakfast had a huge selection of food. The rooms were nice, and the beds were comfortable. It was my daughter's graduation from college, and the staff wrote her a note in her room, and on her mirror they wrote all sorts of good wishes! What a way to stand out! We would definitely come back!

I booked the Queen room a while ago and I had low expectations going in based on some other reviews of this room category in particular. I was pleasantly surprised how much we liked this hotel! While the room was small, it was spotless, the AC was powerful, and the bathroom spacious with great water pressure. It was also super quiet. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful, especially the concierge team. The only room for improvement in my mind would be to add a bit more decor into the Queen Rooms, like wall art or something.

The hotel is very clean, rooms are in excellent condition, great location and the funicular/elevator to take us down the hill is an excellent amenity. It's nice that they have a pillow menu! View from the Beach Club bar is amazing. Staff is very friendly. I would definitely stay there again. They have a parking garage too.

the hotels location was beautiful and the staff were accommodating. We did have an issue with black mold on our ceiling from a leaky a/c unit. due to the language barrier their only solution was for us to move our room at 10:00 p.m. after a long day. we needed to repack all of our clothes etc, move to a much smaller room and then unpack. We paid extra for the bigger room and all that they could do was give us back the 130.00 for the larger room. We left the next day unhappy campers . I have multiple pictures of the rotted, black mold on the ceiling which was totally gross. I would not stay here again due to their lack of caring for a large health issue. Also this hotel does not find the need to have a/c in the common areas of the Hotel..This was booked thru Viking river Cruises and I am discussing the scenario with Viking. I was exception the hotel to offer us much more than what they gave us.

Overall a wonderful property, staff is amazing, attention to detail in rooms is special. All the amenities are excellent.

Wow! WOW! Our corner Lakeside Jr. Suite was perfect in every way. It was so spacious it was like having a beautiful studio apartment. The location high above the lake provided us with EPIC panoramic views of the lake, the amazing snow capped Alps and the coolest of cool architecture of the Old Town in the near distance all day and all night. Just STUNNING! We loved having 3 balconies for the views, the clean fresh air and the abundance natural light. So serene and surreal! Loved watching all the boats and the swans motor by... The décor was light and airy with an art deco vibe. Our king size bed was dreamy with clean smelling crisp bed linens and soft lofty pillows. Our bathroom was beautiful and modern with a roomy shower and a deep free standing soaking tub. The suite had high ceilings with beautiful crown molding, attractive and thoughtful lighting options, and plenty of space for luggage, clothing and such. A/C, water pressure/temp and WiFi were excellent. Housekeeping was spot on as our suite was beautifully prepared upon our arrival and perfectly refreshed every day. Reception was welcoming, helpful and so joyful! The whole hotel is such a beautiful space. Built in ~1910 it retains the grandness, elegance and glamour of that time period. We loved the peaceful location. It was easy to come and go utilizing the hotels dedicated funicular. The walk up would be a heck of a workout! IMHO, the train station is just a little too far (2.2 km) to pull luggage on the busy, uneven and cobbled streets . We took a taxi (~20 CHF) from the train station when we arrived and took the #24 bus (free) when we departed. It’s about a 10 min walk on the scenic promenade to the Old Town. You can hop on the #6, 8 or 24 bus to/from the hotel if your feet are barking as it stops very close to the funicular. So convenient! We had an excellent and elevated dining experience at the hotel in an elegant setting. We also loved the cafeteria style restaurant on the top floor of the Manor Department Store in old town. The food is fresh, yummy, reasonably priced and they have a rooftop terrace with a great view of old town where you can enjoy your meal. It's a bit of a hidden gem. Just sayin... Luzern was our 2nd destination during a month long odyssey of Switzerland and northern Italy. There is a reason many people think Luzern may be the most beautiful city in Switzerland. We were in awe the whole time. I am a total hotel junkie with cRazy high expectations and I could not have chosen a better nest for our 5 nights in beautiful Luzern. We felt like we were in a storybook. Art Deco Hotel Montana was PERFECTION. Enjoy and peace to all!
