The room was very comfortable and airy with a beautiful view onto the lake from the balcony. The furnishing simple and tasteful. The reception and staff was very helpful, and the food in the restaurant too was very good. Everything was just as advertised. We truly enjoyed our stay in this hotel and will surely go back if there is any opportunity to pass through Lugano.

Not welcoming - arrived a bit early at hotel after traveling for 24 hours and walking from train station to hotel. Staff were busy chatting amongst themselves. Their attitude was poor. I asked for something to drink they said go to bar. There was no one at the bar. In general a poor welcome.

This well-run, relatively affordable hotel is operated by a non-profit organization and provides small, clean, and cozy rooms. Our room had a lake view in the distance and a small deck which we enjoyed sitting on for fresh air. We used the stairs but there was a very efficient elevator as well. The location is very good in that it’s a block or so away from the busy downtown, yet a five-minute walk from anywhere you want to go in the old part of town as well as to stroll along the lake. It’s a ten-minute walk to the funicular and the train station. Breakfast was included in the price and was extensive and well presented.

Our stay here was fine. The room and hotel can use some updates but it was okay for two nights. The room was basic. Not the most comfortable bed in my opinion, but it wasn’t the worst either. No safe in the room. The balcony was nice and had pretty good views. Staff was cordial and helpful. Location is excellent, close to the lake, shopping, restaurants, bus.

I chose this hotel since it was one of the most economic in expensive Lugano. I was aware that I would feel back to 80's after having read some reviews and seen some photos. However I enjoyed it very much. The location is perfect. I booked a triple room but at the end I used it alone. Thus I had lot of space (but for 3 people might be small). There was no fridge and the heating was really good. The bathroom was really old and small. The staff was kind. The not bad breakfast (hot plates are charged extra) was served at the ground floor and it is used as restaurant also. I tried the restaurant a couple of times and it was good. If you don't expect luxuries and you like the old atmosphere, then you will enjoy this hotel like me.

A very nice and comfortable place to stay in Lugano. Staff is friendly and services are up to all standards. Breakfast presents different options of cheese, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal breads and juice. Coffee quality is more than acceptable. Rooms are clean and neat. Location is perfect to take a stroll or use the public transportation which is included in the city tax of the bill.

I got the budget room which was perfect for my one night. Would have stayed more but did not have the time. Very clean room. Shared bathrooms were great. They were big and clean and easy to access from the room. The hotel is way closer to the water than I expected. And the ****** is a 2 min walk if you want to go have fun! Thought the room had AC(not even sure I booked though) which may have been controlled by the hotel but opening the window was nice because it wasn’t too hot yet. Just ask about that.

Good location in Lugano, good Lugano public transport and free transport ticket with hotel reservation. Pleasant interior, clean room, pleasant staff, good breakfast (not only croissant and coffee). I really liked the days I spent in Lugano - both the city and the surroundings, as well as the hotel.

The hotel is well-located. Two blocks from the lakefront (which is the thing to visit if one visits only one thing in Lugano) and a short enough walk from the bottom of the funicular for two senior citizens dragging carry-ons. Very friendly reception desks, both days. The rooms are small, but clean and comfortable. We ate dinner in the Hotel restaurant--also very nice.
