The Feathers Hotel

Spent 4 nights here and really enjoyed...The hotel is right in the centre of the town and its great for exploring Ludlows beautiful town..The building is absolutely beautiful The staff were fantastic from the reception area right down to the fantastic housekeeping..Ate on the restaurant for 1 night and had Sunday lunch here as well and the food was absolutely amazing and definitely worth the fantastic reviews about the food.The hotel room was very nice and very spacious...Would definitely come back to this beautiful hotel if I ever decide to come back to Ludlow

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Ludlow. There is on site parking and the castle is a few minutes walk away. Check in was simple and we navigated through the meandering corridors to reach our rooms. It’s a 400 year old building so there are stairs, steps and turns as well as some fabulous wood panelling and glass. My room, 104, was a good size with an excellent modern bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable, there was a good sized desk plus additional seating and the sockets all had USB ports too. The room was quiet, overlooking the car park and despite the hotel being busy there was no noise intrusion from other guests. Breakfast was excellent, buffet with various cooked to order options. Not excessive but good sized portions and decent service. Overall a lovely stay in a fabulous location.

Third time we have stayed at the Feathers .. another nice stay and this time we tried dinner on the Friday evening - delicious , Sunday lunch which was excellent and breakfast on Monday morning which was ok .. all the staff we met were helpful and friendly and we stayed in one of the very spacious and quiet suites . Unfortunately we had a few housekeeping issues this time , but they were addressed at the time and head of housekeeping was very apologetic that we had to have the bed remade due to marks on the sheet ( they were clean just marked ) .. housekeeping needs a bit of a reminder that little things like replenishing the toilet rolls , water glasses and emptying the bathroom bin goes a long way .. the only other little gripe is that when paying a premium rate to stay in one of the suites you are still required to pay for parking .

Lovely, clean and nicely decorated hotel. Good location. Modern room, comfy bed. Stayed in one of the most ******* rooms, but nothing happened. 2 nights of dinners, where on one night 3 side dishes were off the menu. How can a hotel run out of carrots on a Tuesday with a supermarket round the corner!! The wine is very overpriced. Breakfast was nice. Staff were attentive.

This hotel was quaint and beautiful with a recent modern renovation inside evident. The service was excellent, staff lovely, the restaurant is great and we had a wonderful meal. We were honestly surprised by how big and well decorated our bedroom was. The bathroom felt upmarket and the shower was good. Bed was comfy. Would recommend, brilliant value for money. Ludlow is gorgeous

Apart from a tomfoolery of a checkin, the remaining time of my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. As I say checkin was a joke.I waited at the reception desk whilst I thought the receptionist was serving drinks at the adjoining bar. However this lady then told me that their receptionist was on her lunch break! Not great for such a reputable establishment. I had requested an early checkin, which the gentleman I spoke to a couple of days earlier assured me that this would be alright. However eventually after someone came to my assistance,I was told to return at 2pm. When I returned at 2.15 I was then told my room would be ready in 5 minutes, so I waited and waited, At 2.45 I decided to have yet another walk around Ludlow. I returned again at 3.15, and after the lady then confirmed with housekeeping, my room was now ready ( two and a half hours after I was promised ) For the remainder of my stay, my room was comfortable, the complimentary mini bar was a nice touch, and my chambermaid was excellent. I didn’t eat or drink at the hotel so I can’t comment on these. I’ve given a four star simply for my room alone. Please address your reception The Feathers.
