F Zeen Kefalonia

F Zeen was a huge disappointment. The hotel and grounds are beautiful and the breakfast excellent although there were often basic items such as mushrooms unavailable and no condiments on the tables. However, it is not tranquil. I emailed the hotel before arrival to request a quiet room which they promised. The first Raw room I had near reception was very nice but had loud music from a nearby hotel two evenings until late and the TV from the adjoining room was very evident . My second room was situated next to a building site with loud banging and drilling. I complained and was moved but I wasted half a day of my holiday moving and stressed. A receptionist then came to the beach to find me to say that I had to go to reception immediately to pay the tourist tax on the first room. I had returned the key to reception so they knew that I was moving and also that I was staying for another two nights. There is music played everywhere which is not restful. The reception staff with the exception of one, were cold and unfriendly. I requested a late check out but was told they could not confirm until the next day, then it was refused. This seems unreasonable when check-in is not until 3pm. All the hotel information is on an App which you are required to download. I did not want to use my telephone on holiday as I wanted a complete rest so that was unsatisfactory. There is no toilet in the beach bar so you have to climb 140 steep steps up and down to go to the toilet in the shop. There were some excellent staff. Jannick who would drive you to the beach in a buggy, Nico the maintenance engineer and Jeti in the beach bar who was contstantly serving iced water. The outdoor cinema is a nice feature. Overall my holiday was very expensive and disappointing as is not a tranquil retreat as promoted.

F Zeen was exactly as described, adults only with a very chilled vibe, plenty of quiet places to sit in the evening and during the day. The staff were all brilliant, you only have to sit down somewhere and you are brought an iced water, very welcome in 30 degree heat. The food was healthy and delicious, we ate in both restaurants many times for lunch and dinner. As a vegetarian the best choices were for lunch in the Gaia restaurant. The cocktails are properly crafted and of an excellent quality. I loved the yoga, with so many options for all different levels of experience, the aerial yoga was particularly fun! Special mention to Yeti from the beach bar who kept us topped up with iced water all day, outstanding service especially considering this is not an all inclusive hotel. The only reason we have given it 4 stars, as opposed to 5, is the lack of a toilet anywhere near the beach, there should be one in the beach bar as it is serving food. You have to climb up to the Gaia restaurant level, and then the only toilet is in the boutique, not ideal. But we will definitely be back as it is just what we were looking for in a resort.

We really enjoyed our first stay at FZeen - good location, excellent food and comfortable rooms (we stayed in a “Superior Raw”). But it is the staff who make it really special. We mainly dined at their Gaia restaurant where Tom looked after us so well - he is a total pro and a real asset to F Zeen. His knowledge of the menu and the local wine list was exceptional and he is also just an incredibly likeable guy who honestly made our stay so brilliant. Special thanks also to Aggelos (both of you!) and Spyridoula at Gaia restaurant. Together they make such a great team. Breakfast is also very civilised, with Christina running an efficient service at Selini. Again, the standard of food is excellent. After breakfast, the whole resort transforms into different areas to lounge and you can order one of the hotels many amazing smoothies or coffees. Konstantina and Andreas working in Seleni are so lovely - they can’t do enough for you and have such a fantastic sense of humour. The hotel is split over multiple areas with a choice of pools. There was always a quiet space to read or sunbathe. The beach area is great too - reserved sun loungers are plentiful and each parasol has a call button if you want to order food or drinks. Jeti is always on hand for that and to help if you’re new to paddleboarding like we were! We also had spa treatments during our stay and again, the staff are wonderful. We didn’t sample many of the scheduled classes and activities during our stay, but enjoyed those we did. Of course, every hotel will make mistakes and F Zeen isn’t perfect but overall it really exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return for the warm hospitality it delivers.

You will not be disappointed with the location, views and most definitely lives up to the 5 star rating. Staff are superb, food quality excellent and facilities provide multiple options every day!

I had the most amazing stay at FZeen Kefalonia - it exceeded my expectations. The location, accommodation, facilities and staff were all exceptional. I cannot recommend FZeen Kefalonia highly enough. If you want to escape the real world, this is the place to come. I will be returning next year!

This hotel was fabulous from start to finish....all the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable and the whole hotel is decorated to a very high sleek standard. Ate at both restaurants and were by far the best meals of the whole week.....food is delicious as is breakfast and cocktails and all meals are made with love. The local f zeen wine is also pretty good. The views are spectacular but what really sets this hotel above the rest is the staff.......everyone is so accommodating, knowledgeable and beyond friendly.....I expecially like that they have the same team of staff for the day and evening shifts so you get to know the same group of people for breakfast service and evening. I apologise, I don't recall everyone's names but the lovely gentleman we had with the long hair for breakfast always greeted us with a big smile and a warm welcome and his colleague Michaela was also very lovely. The evening team we had the lovely Tom, who I know will go on to do great things, and all of his lovely colleagues, got to have several good chats with these guys and was sad to leave them. All made our stay that much more special and memorable. F Zeen should be really proud of their staff, they really and truly go above and beyond for their guests. Petro was also so much fun for our hike and pilates class, another great asset and look forward to seeing what he does next. Also, just have to add that although this is a wellness hotel, nothing is pushed upon you, you can do as much or as little as you like, the hotel is peaceful and relaxing and although is aimed towards wellness it certainly didn't feel like some pretentious health retreat.

Building site, drilling and a whole lot more Zen! We are here now, arrived Sat about 8pm, hungry from the flight to be told we couldn’t have a Greek salad or tzatziki as they only served this at lunch time, not a great start, also the menu doesn’t change so is limited if your staying for a week, although the food is nice, rose wine is 66 euros and the meal was very expensive . We managed to find a lovely taverna just at the bottom of the hotel and there’s also a family run restaurant next door called Lorraine’s where most guests seem to go. The actual hotel is lovely, it’s a Boutique hotel and the staff are super friendly and helpful, but do not come here if you have mobility problems, it’s all steps, everywhere unless you are in the top section. The classic garden rooms at the bottom have a small pool and most people were coming down as the upper level pools were, as quoted by another guest like swimming in hot syrup, so it was quite busy. But the worst thing is the noise, we have had drilling, sawing , and a building site next door, we have all been woken up whilst sun bathing by the contestant racket and we are all so disappointed that we have not been able to fully relax. It’s a real shame because when I showed the video of the extent of the noise to the receptionist she just said, why don’t you swim up here it’s quieter , but swimming in syrup isn’t really appealing, overall just a bit disappointed
