Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences

My wife and I decided to stay here after a week with a group at another resort to unwind. We were at Vista 5 Days. We were blown away with how gorgeous the resort, rooms and views were! It seems like a large building, but in reality there are not that many rooms. We mostly spent our days at the 7th floor pool. No need to get up early to get a spot, most people started coming out between 10 and 11. Pool is heated, which was a plus, and has amazing views! Hanging in the pool looking for whales in the distance was great fun! Service at the pool was top notch. Miguel took care of us most days and he was always there when we needed him nd brought drinks and food promptly, checking back with us if we needed anything else. We did the Premium all inclusive for 4 days. Not sure the difference between premium and regular AI so I am not sure it was worth it to get premium. We are not AI people, but really just wanted to relax for 4 days, so we did it. Mestizo, the restaurant on top of Vista was our favorite by far. Excellent breakfasts and both dinners we ate there were very good, better than I expected. We ate at Barolo, Italian, the food was very tasty, but service was just OK, it was crowded as it seems everyone arrives at the same time. At 7:00 it is full, by 8:00 pretty much empty. So a big rush to deal with. Wine by the glass here was not good, so we ended up paying quite a bit for bottle. Again, not sure what premium AI gets you when they serve the same terrible wine by the glass to everyone. Food made up for the crowd! Extremely good! Also ate at the steakhouse, Riscos. Not good. Same deal with the wine. Ended up buying a bottle. Had the same gentleman help us with wine at Barolo and Riscos. Very nice gentleman and helped us get our orders in and move the service along. Really seemed interested in making sure we had a great time. Drinks by the pool were great as was the food we ordered! You have to sign a bill every time you eat, or every few hours at the pool, so we saw the price we would have paid without AI, and the prices were steep. 2 people for brunch on Sunday would have been $88. Entrees at the restaurant are very overpriced if you are not on AI. I assume that is to encourage people to do AI. At Vista you have access to all pools and restaurants. They said the pool at Vista was only for Vista residences. We did not make use of the Kitchen in our 1 Bedroom, but it was well stocked if you were making your own meals! Would have been nice if they refilled the Nespresso pods every day. They were never refilled. They did restock beer, coke, water and apple juice. Service was great throughout the stay from check in to check out. Super friendly and happy to help make your stay great! My wife did not want to leave, so I know we will be back soon!

Sky Gym is one of the many gems located within Vista Encantada Resort and Spa. My wife and I spend five weeks each year at this world class resort. On this particular three week stay, I was focused on relaxing and recuperating from a major back surgery. I was just beginning therapy in the states following my six week medical evaluation. I reviewed the recommendations of my Neuro Surgeon with Cesar Patricio, fitness coach at Vista Encantada's SKY GYM. Cesar developed a stationary bicycle low impact exercise program I was able to do each day during my stay. The program meet every aspect of my Neuro Surgeon's recommendations. I have been working with Cesar daily for two weeks. My post surgery sleep has improved significantly. I am stronger, more confident in my recovery and am looking forward to my third week under Cesar's oversight.

When we first stepped off our transport from the airport and into the lobby of this beautiful resort, we knew this was not going to be like any other vacation we’ve experienced. It is not often these days when traveling that you find hotel employees whose only desire is to see you happy. Everyone from the cart drivers to the Beach Service went over and above to make sure we were happy. Not just happy with them, but happy with our stay overall. I would particularly like to mention Moises, the Mestizo restaurant manager, who went the extra mile for our group and does an informative, fun Tequila tasting! He was just one of many great interactions we had at the resort. Our four bedroom villa was the perfect size for our group of eight and having a pool of our own allowed us to relax and unwind. The food on site was great, especially breakfast. The cocktails were also delicious, especially that Cadillac Margarita! We are already planning the return trip in two years.
