Maypole Inn

Stayed for a wedding at Falcon Manor. Booked a Quad Room and a Double with Breakfast. It’s an old pud so the floor is slanted as are the bedrooms but this all adds to its character 😊 The hospitality was great and the breakfast was good. The rooms are well equipped with Yorkshire Tea which was perfect 👌 😂 Very clean and the beds were really comfy and cosy. Bathrooms were modern and clean and the windows were well done to ensure no road noise. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Only negative was the shower pressure was poor and more of a trickle than a shower 😂

We had a lovely 1 night stay. Our room was at the back overlooking the car park. Our room had everything we needed. Breakfast the following morning was great too. We found the pub very homely and clean. We had a walk around the village too, and found a beautiful church.

Very Pleasant Experience Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!

Excellent room and superb food. Stayed here in 2023 and excellent once again. Lovely room 1 Pen-y-gent the walk in shower i wish i could take home. Plenty of tea coffee in room and toiletries. Had steak and ale pie with veg and chips. Big chunks of tender meat in luscious gravy, chips were home made and not the usual frozen ones! Meal was excellent. Lovely fire in bar which was really welcoming on such a bad day Nice breakfast. Great you could check in after 2pm as the weather was awful out and could check out at 11 am. Enjoyed my stay again and will be back.

Stayed for 3 nights .We could forgive all of its shortcomings if the bed ( fit for live stock) had not been so awfull. Best described as salvaged from a scrap yard. The two joined single beds were unfit for use. Incredibly naive . The single most important thing to offer any traveller is a good quality matress. We paid £100 per night so if the owners dedicated £3 of every £100 to a matress replacement fund they could invest in a new £8-£900 ( double/king) matress every 300 nights !! ( last time I checked there were 365 days in a year. At that rate they could afford to replace matress every year. Lets be honest back home where we all sleep on matress the best part of a year , matress are typically replaced every eight years. My point is there is nor excuse using recycled junk matress unless you hold visitors in contempt or you are not a serious host. Friendly breakfast staff ( breakfast not great ( certainly not like the picture) and atmosphere drab ) Hosts nowhere to be seen. Room decor ok , certainly tried , temperature fine . Lighting needs working on.Coffee machine just for show.Bathroom reasonable presentation , had made some effort but insufficient water pressure for anything other than hand held light shower.Shame that said bathroom was beset with sewer gases ,most unpleasant. The Maypole Inn is a pub first and foremost and probably a good pub, and has it would seem a decent restaurant following but there was no comfort at the Inn what so ever . Why play at being a hotel if you dont understand the basics .
