Albro House Hotel

Very friendly owner, location is short walk from Paddington Station, very very convenient!! Rooms are cosy and comfy, only con was no lift, so if you get a room on the above floors, will need to lug the luggage up the slightly narrow staircase. Overall, will definitely stay there again my next visit!

I stayed here with my young son for 2 nights and it was perfect for what we wanted. A stones throw from Paddington and the owners were very friendly and obliging too. Our bedroom was on the 3rd floor (we counted 70 ish steps), so no good for anyone with a dodgy knee or with mobility issues as there's no lift. Breakfast was another flight of stairs to the basement so we certainly got a good workout! The bedroom was small but clean, as was a very small WC with shower cubicle with incredible water pressure! Our twin room was perfect for the 2 of us but a couple/ family would want bigger. It had TV, drawer space, wardrobe, cabinet, kettle/ cups, milks & coffee sachets. The "full English" was a bit lacklustre with a small tepid polish type sausage, dollop of beans, egg, bacon and 1/2 tomato but was enough for me as I didn't want toast. It was swimming in grease though and I saw another guest dabbing his breakfast with a napkin. No brown bread/ decaf options were available. My son had toast / cereal / croissant and he was happy with that. I was also able to put my rucksack in their office space until I needed to pick it up. I'd absolutely recommend it as a no frills option and you can't beat it for station proximity. 4/5

Very polite and friendly staff! Central located with good connections to town and airport. However: Dirty carpet in our room! Pen graffiti on the wall, (made apparently by earlier guests)! Boring breakfast, if one chooses English breakfast then there is charge of £7:00 … This was not mentioned in the advertisement, so I complained and got it for free…. (It wasn’t worth the hassle … So, if it was cleaner and tastier, I would have given 5 stars… For now it deserve not more then 3 stars…

Nice little hotel, great situation, close to Paddington station & Hyde Park. We stayed for one night as attending BST Hyde Park. Room was on very top floor, so do check when booking as quite a hike up there! But room was clean, shampoo & soap provided & bed was comfy. It was hot, but small fan provided which was a god-send. Breakfast was right down in basement and very wide variety of foods offered. It would of been easier to have a menu tbh, as the owner simply asked 'what do you want?' Which kind of leaves you flumoxed! You pay for the location, but compared to other hotels around there, it was very a reasonably priced budget hotel. Don't expect the Ritz, if you ain't paying for it!

Very basic, it wasn't the standard I was expecting after reading previous reviews. Sat for breakfast, one of us ordered breakfast with scrambled eggs, i wanted fried but the owner said it is better for them if we both order the same type of eggs! I know you get what you pay for but this was not the type of customer service that wins me over. It is handy location wise for the underground and hyde park. Nothing outstanding in anyway for this place but on the whole it was okay.

This hotel is a little gem!. My mum and I stayed here this weekend and we were welcomed by a lovely man and lady who both looked after us. They were both very friendly and kind, we felt right at home!. It’s in a fantastic location with shops and restaurants just across the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious too, we will definitely be back soon, thank you so much!.

I stayed here for work late last year. On the up-side it was cheap and pretty well located. The property was a little run down / budget, the staff pleasant enough to deal with in person. The business markets itself as a hotel but it seems to be more of a guest house over many floors or a large converted ex-residential property - like many similar businesses in the vicinity. My room was small but sufficient; right at the top of the building at the end of a fairly narrow set of stairs. Those with mobility issues might be wise to clarify the location of rooms before booking. Upon leaving my impression was pretty much as you'd expect; not the finest place to stay but there were no dramas and it was reasonable value. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst once back in the office and attempted to secure the usual VAT receipt for my expenses records. After this paperwork was respectfully requested from the owner he became extremely evasive; at first pleading ignorance as to what was required in a VAT receipt before ultimately resorting to bizarre and childish insults towards me. He even claimed I was threatening him with blackmail for suggesting that *********** (through whom the room had been booked) should be involved if, for whatever reason he couldn't provide the documentation I'd requested. After this experience I'm not keen to deal with this individual again and couldn't in good faith recommend his business.

We were really impressed with this hotel- it was only 5 minutes (approximately) from Paddington Station and located in a quiet road. It wasn’t far to Hyde Park and the Italian Gardens. The room was clean and the bathroom was modern . The breakfast was very tasty and the owner and all staff were so friendly and welcoming. We were able to leave our bag before check in as we were very early and left it after we checked out to pick up later. We will definitely use it again.

Small but tall bijou hotel just 400 yards from Paddington and Hyde Park. Surprisingly quiet as we slept with the windows open. Great service provided for booking and breakfast. Would be happy to visit again.
