My wife and I checked in at the office opposite a large, free car park and were then escorted by a very pleasant amn through the narrow streets to our home for the next three days. We'd only booked a day or two before and the available house (for that's what it was) turned out to be the two bedroomed Casa degli Angeli; a twin bedded room and bathroom on one floor then, up some narrow stairs to a kitchen /dining area and a double bedroom. We chose to use the twin room for easy night-time access to the bathroom! From the second floor, another set of stairs led to a large rooftop terrace with a cracking view of the Duomo and a good array of furniture; perfect for a quiet evening drink or for a lie in the sun! This is the main attraction of this particular property I'd say. The furnishings were fairly ordinary and the house isn't especially attractive inside but it's clean and more than adequate for a few days stay. Outside is extremely pretty; the location is excellent and Locorotondo is a perfect base to explore this part of Puglia. Breakfast involves a short walk down the street and was pretty good, served by pleasant staff in nice surroundings. We had a rainstorm the night before we left and somehow this caused the lights to go out! A phone call had the owner (sorry, can't remember his name) round within a few minutes and although he couldn't fix it late at night he did all he could to make sure we were OK and we managed fine with the emergency lighting. Albergo diffuso is a strange concept and it's difficult to know whether to judge it as a Hotel or as a holiday let /Air BnB sort of place. If the latter, then I'd have to mark it down on the very basic kitchen equipment. For a hotel however, the presence of tea and coffee making facilities, wine glasses and basic cutlery would be a selling point! All in all we enjoyed our stay and would at least consider 'Sotto le Cummerse' again if we were to have a short visit to Locorotondo. If staying there for the major part of a holiday we might look elsewhere.
