Meliá Lloret de Mar

Wonderful stay, with exemplary service from the staff - in particular Sabina (working on Reception). Our allocated room wasn't to our preference, and Sabina went out of her way to offer 3 alternatives. We were happy to pay a small price to upgrade to a room further away from the lift. The hotel is spotlessly clean, so much choice at the buffet breakfast, and we enjoyed one evening buffet meal. A problem with the air conditioning was rectified within 30 minutes, even though it was late in the evening. It's about 10 minutes to the beach, which can seem further when coming back uphill, but that's what we expected. A couple of local bars close to the hotel, and if you choose the right one - great prices and good food. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Just back from a weeks stay at Melia Lloret de Mar. We had booked The Level and this proved well worth it. When we checked in we received a warm welcome and a cold drink and were given information about how the level lounge works, and wristbands which showed we had access to the lounge. The wristbands also double as your keycard, which was great as you didn't have to remember to take a key with you. The room was lovely, forward facing on the second floor, it was bright and spacious, when we first arrived it had two beds pushed together, when we wanted a double bed, but within an hour that was changed to a double with a different mattress. The bed was huge and so comfy we never wanted to get out of it !. The rooms use a card which you have to insert in order to turn on the lights etc, you have to remember to take this out if you go out as normally it would also be your room key, but the wristband is the key when staying in a Level Room. The breakfast was really good, a huge choice and again some nice extras if you are a Level guest. The pool was nice, surprisingly warm given its size and we enjoyed an afternoon reading books and having a dip. There is a bar and restaurant poolside which looked nice but we didn't try. Location wise it's a 10 minute walk to the seafront down some windy lanes with bars and restaurants - its uphill coming back but its not steep. The staff were very helpful and engaging and gave us recommendations for places to eat, booked restaurants for us, helped us get the bus to Barcelona and Tossa de Mar and organised a picnic for us when we were going out early before breakfast. There is still some work going on in the basement area (I think on a spa) but it didn't disturb us at all and there was no obvious sign of it while walking around the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back next year.

The staff were absolutely brilliant throughout our stay, the enthusiasm they had was exceptional. A really spacious pool area gave us the perfect place to relax. Breakfast and food options were great. We can’t wait to to come back and visit.

I stayed at the Melia Lioret De Mar with my family at the beginning of June 2024. The holiday was beautiful from start to finish and this is due to the lovely, kind, attentive staff at the Hotel Melia. From the start of the holiday the older gentleman who collected our suitcases and delivered them to our rooms and who also offered his assistance throughout our stay - we could not have asked for better service and a warmer welcome. The reception staff were also attentive and no problem was too big! especially Nadia at the reception who was kind enough to assist my father with the Netflix issues he had (during the only rainy evening of our holiday) . The lovely hostess Diana who welcomed us every evening in the restaurant - and also provided guidance on how to get travel into Barcelona (we were not aware that a direct bus service was a stones throw from the hotel) Maria the waitress in the restaurant who assisted my mother by preparing a decaf coffee personally when the machines weren't working (going over and above) and Luis and Clara who worked in the pool bar and made an effort to remember our preferred drinks and were always so welcoming! The entire hotel provided a safe and warm environment in a gorgeous location with beautiful rooms. The outside facilities and pool locations was beautiful and the energy from the aqua fitness instructor was charming and created a lovely fun atmosphere! I would also like to make a point of highlighting how lovely the male pool life guard was and the lovely laidback atmosphere that they created, this was in comparison to when a different life guard was on duty and made it their responsibility to tell people where they could lounge (even though this was not indicated on the loungers or anywhere in the pool area, everyone had previously been allowed to lounge as per their preference and this specific life guard did create an awkward atmosphere and made several holiday makers uncomfortable) a part from this incident with the female life guard the entire holiday was beautiful from start to finish! I will recommend the Hotel Melia Lioret De Mar to everyone I know!

We had an excellent stay in the hotel , the only disappointment was that we could not stay longer . The staff were very attentive and helpful especially Maria , who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. We are already considering another stay very shortly in Aug/Sept

Worst hotel experience ever. It started with the fact that the hotel's payment terminal did not recognize the Visa Gold bank card. But, miraculously, the second payment terminal, kindly provided by the receptionist, had no problem with the bank card. But in a European country, the Eurozone, this terminal is configured to offer payment for accommodation services in US dollars !! The display text is in Spanish, and the buttons are configured as follows: Green Accept (payment in US dollars), Red Refuse (payment in euros). The friendly receptionist will advise you to activate the green accept payment button. When you later analyze the check, you realize that the euro/dollar exchange rate specified on the check does not correspond to the actual one applied. In my case I was overcharged by an extra US$80. It is a real financial theft of the hotel. The discussion on this subject with the representatives of the hotel did not solve the problem, the respective persons showing incompetence. Another problem I encountered is the non-compliance of the hotel management with Spanish national legislation. From 2022, hotels and restaurants in Spain are obliged to offer customers flat drinking water (tap water) upon request. The Melia Hotel, through the restaurant manager, refuses to offer tap water to customers, citing that they cannot control the quality of the water. The paradox is that water is offered at breakfast and in the hotel lobby, but it is categorically refused at dinner. Customers are forced to procure water. My attempt to drink store-bought drinking water during dinner was brutally denied by the restaurant manager, who said he could only allow me to do so against payment according to the restaurant's pay list. It is a violation of both legal norms and ethics and human rights. It was just a bottle of drinking water (not mineral). The above has determined me not to have relations with Melia hotels in the future. For objectivity, however, I must note that the hotel is renovated and in good condition, the territory is well-kept and the hotel is located in a quiet area, it has parking on two levels (€21/day), the room services are good, the hotel's kitchens offer super tasty and varied dishes.

I recently stayed in Melia Lloret De Mar and would highly recommend it. Check in / Check out: Check in and check out were easy and seamless. All staff behind reception were attentive and friendly. A special mention to Jamie who was great! Room: We had a pool facing room and it was amazing. It was bright with great A/C. The bathroom was large and the rituals shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and body lotion were a great bonus. Another great bonus is the excellent standard of hair dryers ( coming from a girl with long thick hair - it was a salon standard hair dryer). The best feature of the room for us personally was the choice of 3 different pillows for the bed. This was a a real touch of class as well as providing a dressing gown and slippers for everyone. Pool area: The pool was brilliant. It was lovely and large and there was never any issue getting a sun lounger. What I loved was the towel service but specifically the size of the towels - one towel covered the majority of the sun lounger. The bar service was good and the pool side staff were excellent particularly the entertainment manager and the lady with the braids who performed the aqua gym class! Their energy was unmatched. Breakfast: Breakfast overall was of an excellent standard. There was a large array of fresh fruit, salads, and hot food including pancakes and waffles. An added bonus was the huge array of breakfast options for gluten free individuals. This was incredible considering we found the town of Lloret de Mar itself had a poor selection of restaurants offering gluten free options. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to stay in Lloret de Mar. It’s 10/10 from me.

I have been a Melia guest and a member for multiple years now going through all of the rewards ranks etc.. but I am absolutely disgusted by the service at the Lloret de Mar resort. One problem after another and they do not care about you the customer. We were promised late check out and on the day they said no sorry there is nothing that we can do and gave us 15 mins to vacate without a care in the world. We were told before we booked that the spa would be open and it was still a construction site when we arrived. Each morning there are construction sounds waking you up early. Any of the other Melia resorts I would recommend but this one I would stay as far away as possible. Highly unsatisfying experience.

On the front, it looks like a brand new hotel, however, there are just so many missing details that doesn’t warrant this hotel to be 5*. Starting with the booking… I booked an incorrect number of rooms and immediately tried to change. But as it was special deal, there was no movement from the hotel. In fact they were very direct about it. No problem, I took it on the chin, my mistake. But, when the hotel starts making changes during your stay… closing the pool bar, top bar, restaurant etc as the royal family is there and security is just mental… I had to ask… is that justified? The room. Bang average, missing details, aircon not working, aircon leaking in some rooms. Just not 5*. The hotel did offer us a complimentary lunch… which was really nice but took over 2,5hrs (service). In summary, I was disappointed that the hotel failed to inform us of the royal visit + extra security (which is necessary). Disappointed with the room. Wouldn’t stay again
