This is a typical Premier Inn - better than the worst I've stayed in, not as good as the best. I definitely can't fault the location - nearby the main road for excellent access to the Brecon Beacons and the nearby town of Abergavenny and, in that regard our stay served us well. However, having stayed at many Premier Inns over the years it is impossible to ignore the gradual decline of service and standards. In the case of this hotel there was a lack of cups in the room, scant immediate supplies of coffees/teas and only a couple of towels for a room booked for three people. Of course, like the now defunct automatic cleaning of the room, these things can be rectified by contacting the reception but clearly this is a hassle that never used to be needed and is just another profit making device for the owners. Coupled with the scattering of mold in the bathroom, the car park which required registration to avoid a healthy fine for daring to park at what is effectively a motel and the piles of rubbish strewn around the environment one can't fail to see the profit over service mentality which sadly pervades the modern world.
