Apparently the Sandpiper is due to close, which will relegate this to being just another featureless (not so) budget hotel. A very sad prospect. Should anyone from Whitbread be reading - blindly chasing profit will lose you the source of any profit - Customers. Think again before it’s too late. Meanwhile highly recommended in its present form."

My room was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable—one of those places where you instantly relax and don’t want to leave. The restaurant deserves special mention. Every meal was outstanding, from presentation to flavor. You can really tell how much care goes into the ingredients and the cooking. The menu strikes a perfect balance between creative and comforting, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. Bonus points for the service—attentive, friendly, and never overbearing. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. Everyone I interacted with was professional, warm, and genuinely eager to make the stay memorable. Those small, thoughtful touches made a big difference and turned a great stay into an exceptional one. Whether you’re visiting for a getaway, a special occasion, or just a great meal, I can’t recommend this hotel and restaurant highly enough. I’ll definitely be back."

"We visited here on Sunday 1st February For Sunday dinner The carvery was 10/10 absolutely delicious that stuff ….. the best I’ve had out on a Sunday dinner, The beef fell apart in my mouth. The vegetables just how I like them with a little bit of a bite. Not soggy or watery just perfect The parsnips (gutted I didn’t put more of them on my plate) Honestly can’t fault it and staff very helpful and definitely serving us with a smile. Well done all and congratulations on an outstanding meal We will be back!"
