We were warmly welcomed by Colin on arrival. We parked our car in the hotel car park at the rear of the hotel, and we accessed the hotel with our luggage via the back entrance. How convenient to not have to “mess about” with on-street parking. We were fortunate to have a sea view room, the window armchairs providing beautiful views of the Great Orme, Llandudno Pier and the Little Orme. The ensuite room was tastefully and recently decorated, with tea-making facilities and a fridge for our drinks. Sandra cooked excellent breakfasts “to order”, ranging from the full Traditional with all the trimmings to Eggs Benedict. It is sometimes difficult to get a suitable booking for an evening meals in Llandudno, because the most popular restaurants and pubs are often fully booked. Luckily, on Mondays and Wednesdays, the Sŵn y Môr provides a home-cooked meal circa 5.30 / 6pm. We had, for example, beef lasagne, scampi and beef pie – delicious, and most pleasant to eat in the bay window overlooking the sea. We had great weather, plenty of sun and no rain at all. So we did our usual walk to Conwy along the river (about 5 miles, returning by bus). We also walked part-way round the Great Orme, and walked beyond the Lifeboat Station towards Penrhyn. We also visited Haulfre Gardens and the West Shore. So thank you very much, Colin and Sandra, for a most enjoyable stay. We will definitely visit again.
