Stayed at Serenity 11/15-11/21 during the quite season. I totally loved this hotel for what it did not have and what it did have. What it did not not have is crowds of guests. It really is a place of serenity and tranquillity. When I asked for something I needed, assistance was provided very promptly. Things go wrong sometimes. That is only to be expected. How you deal with problems can make guests life time guests. I know now that if there are any problems in future stays, that they will be addressed rather than ignored. Jackie and her fellow associates are what makes this place very special. You feel like you are interacting with people rather than a customer service desk that will get around to dealing with issues when it suits them. Yes the rooms are not 100% up to date, but when I walked into our apartment it smelt and felt like I was in a real Anguillan apartment. I would prefer it like this rather than some clinically clean modern room with absolutely no Anguillan culture. The apartment I stayed in 1C was very spacious. I could easily live in the apartment we spent 6 days in. Serenity is a rare gem in this day and age, for what is does not have compared to the big hotels on Shoal Bay. I did go to Shoal Bay where the big hotels are and was shocked but what I saw. There were many more people on the beach than I would have expected. The ocean was churning. The beach was also not what I had expected based on YouTube videos. It seems to have been ravaged by strong waves creating several small mini bays along the beach. We ended up going to Rendevous Bay to swim during our stay, which has calm waters even when the ocean is raging in Shoal Bay. I went into one of the large hotels and found absolutely no guests in the pool area or surrounding facilities. Very strange considering the number of people on the beach. All I can say is throughly review any hotels on Shoal Bay that you are thinking of staying at. If you are not up for renting a car then the big hotels may surfice, but to truly get a feel of the island renting a car is essential. Digicell in the Village can supply you with a simm card that works very well compared to wifi which often goes in and out.
