Convenient location, walkable to TaoHuaGu entrance and only 3.5km from WangXiangYan (the less busy scenic area). But there is a motor sports stadium nearby, very noisy each evening. Also, in this part of the valley, the laser shows on the surrounding rocks was unwelcome.
We could only get one room card (Seriously!) , first time this has every happened to us, very inconvenient as we often do our own thing.
The rooms were spotlessly clean. However, the courtyard and dining room were filthy, not sure ever cleaned. Although the reception girls were friendly enough and the owner spoke to us, other staff wouldn't even make eye contact.
The bed was comfortable enough, but the shower room was unacceptable. Sold as a wet room, that's exactly what it was, the shower head directly over the toilet, everything had to be taken out of the room including the toilet paper and towels, and I wasn't happy about the amount of water around the electrics for the fancy toilet. Couldn't get a good shower, or use the (soaked) toilet comfortably. They have gone to great lengths to provide a fancy Japanese toilet and AV facilities but have missed out on basic usability.
The on-site laundry facilities amounted to a washing machine crammed into a toilet/storeroom. Had to be careful not to step in the Chinese style pan.
Finally, breakfast. WE only ate there for one of the 3 days as it was terrible. (This is my Chinese wife speaking, not the Westerner who maybe doesn't understand). Very limited choice, the food was tasteless, no drinks were offered. Chairs were filthy with cigarette ash and stains.
