Glaros Royal Beach Hotel

I travelled as a party of 3, 2 adults, 1 child aged 11 on a half board basis. The hotel is beachfront in centre of Hersonissos, with restaurants and bars nearby. Hotel staff were brilliant especially staff on reception who were very helpful. We arrived late at night, there was mini fridge in room however no water, so if you arriving late make sure you have water as I then had to go searching for water after midnight. Rooms are good size, cleaned daily and nicely decorated, kettle is provided but no tea / coffee.. strange. Good choice at breakfast, evening not so great, however we swapped a couple of times and had lunch rather than evening meal, then ate out the rest of the week, I wish we had gone just bed and breakfast rather than half board, but that was a mistake on my part. Meals are served in the sister hotel, next door but 1, only a 2 minute walk, the pool is also at sister hotel which is small and come afternoon full of groups of young girls and lads, in fact I would say this isn’t a family hotel. The pool area was also dirty, I bought some wipes and cleaned the beds and side tables as they were sticky. The usual reserving of sunbeds was an issue and I did witness 1 family reserving extra beds in the sun along with some poolside, which given that there are not enough beds to accommodate guests was unacceptable !! Lovely hotel, probably wouldn’t visit again as I feel the resort is a party place for teenagers, but that’s not a reflection on the hotel, just Hersonissos in general. Also note that the coach doesn’t drop off outside hotel, its a 350m walk from bus stop, I guess because the hotel is beachfront and coach wouldn’t get down the narrow street, it wasn’t a problem for us but worth mentioning.

I’ll start with the pros: 1. The rooms are actually lovely in the hotel and you’ll get a great nights sleep. 2. The rooftop pool is amazing! Loved it. Now the cons: 1. The rooms have a kettle but no tea bags or coffee sachets. There are no water bottles provided in the rooms. 2. The rooftop pool bar doesn’t open until after the pool closes, and isn’t included in the all inclusive. 3. To use any all inclusive facilities like drinks or food you have to walk down the road to their sister hotel. 4. The food was terrible - everything was cold and I seen a staff member pour chicken skewers into a tub of different meat at the buffet to make room for meatballs. 5. The staff were variable - some were lovely and others acted like asking to fill a water bottle was an inconvenience. Water was also given out in plastic cups and not bottles so you couldn’t practically bring water with you to the room. Overall, I’d recommend this hotel for the rooms only but not for an all inclusive stay. It’s also a shame the rooftop pool is so impractical with no bar or hydration facilities. It’s a massive waste of a key facility they have to offer that stands out from the crowd.

Stunning room.. shame about view and small balcony. Rain and small shower, hairdryer, daily housekeeping and towel, amazing lighting system. Extremely friendly helpful staff on reception and housekeeping. Roof top pool with 8 sun beds. Cosy cocktail bar on am evening but no draught ales. Don't expect to drink at the hotel...you'll wait forever.. waiters are extremely busy serving food to the general public. Paying guests food was ok but very little for vegetarians but I didn't starve..the country/lemon potatoes were the best thing I ate.. delicious. Plus good salad choice. Very busy and tightly packed beaches. Quieter beach nearby is at the open air museum where you can get 2 beds and a parasol for 7 euros plus a meal and a drinkbrought to you by a very pleasant man. Also worth a visit is the little sea life centre.. v friendly staff and creatures 😁 Had I done my homework and not had to rush the finding of a holiday then I wouldn't ever have come to hersonissos as it's too busy for me but as hotels go I can't fault it.. shame about some of the staff.

the hotel is away from the main entertainment street, modern, rooms are cleaned every day, towels are also changed daily. the hotel does not have its own beach, an umbrella with two sunbeds costs €12 every day. the pool on the roof is small and shallow (120 cm), but offers beautiful views. the food is the same every day, the staff is very helpful, BUT they prefer to serve the guests of the restaurant, so hotel guests get drinks with dinner already after eating.

The building itself is new, modern, the room we were living was big, very well cleaned every day, but! the service was awful. The breakfast should start at 7:30. But coffee machine was turned on only at 8:15 and few dishes appeared as well only at 8:15. As we have excursion at 8:30 (and not only we, there were some more people waiting) we had to drink coffee and eat something very fast!!! As was mentioned in previous messages, the plates were often dirty, no spoons, poor variety of food, in the pool the waterfall was not working and a lot of dirty plates after guests. If you are going to book the room for 3 persons, it will be bad idea, because for the third person the bed is uncomfortable and in our room the wall in the shower was made from glass, so everything you are doing in shower was well seen. In the day of leaving we ordered pizza, but it was done for 1h later as we asked and again we had to eat it in a hurry... It was awful!!! I hope that the team will improve the service, because the location and the hotel is really nice.

I rarely put reviews, but this hotel deserves a real good one. Everything was perfect : hotel and bedrooms with fresh and modern design, all very clean, the sea is at 30 meters. The service is great and all employees are very pleasant and professional. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The food is more than Ok. And the price reasonbale for such standing
