Let me start with the good. This park is in an amazing location. Across the road from Lake Ainsworth and a bit past the lake is the ocean with a patrolled beach so you are spoilt for choice for swimming. The lake is fresh water and the temperature is like bath water. Perfect for kids, adults, paddle boards, etc. There are plenty of grassed areas, picnic shelters, bbq's around the lake. There is a kiosk at the beach and a Cafe within 5 mins walk. The main town is about a 15min walk. There is a Friendly Grocer in town that is quite well stocked, 3 liquor stores, a butcher and bakery. If you need the Woolies you will need to drive 10 mins but other than that you won't need to drive anywhere. Down the road is 4wd access to 7 mile Beach but you need a permit. As for the park the front office stocks various ice creams, drinks, lollies and milk. The Norco milkman also visits regularly. You can also hire kayaks, paddle boards and push bikes for a reasonable price. During our stay they had a movie night, activities for kids and a visit from Santa. I found it convenient that the laundry had a credit card payment system and you get a text when the load is about to finish. $7 a load to wash and $8 to dry. You can get an iron from reception if you need it. In the section we were in there didn't seem to be a camp kitchen but there may have been one at the far end of the park. People were washing up in the laundry. Amenities were pretty standard. Bit frustrating the you need one code for the toilets and another for the boom gate but not a deal breaker. Park is pet friendly as are parts of the beach but the lake and surrounds are not pet friendly. Mind you, it wasn't cheap but still cheaper than many on the coast. Sites are very squishy. We had a small caravan and awning and could barely fit our car on the site. Neighbours are right up to each others' boundary. All in all, we loved our stay and will most likely be back.
