Briggate Hotel

I really wanted to like the Brigate Hotel. The room itself was lovely—spacious, well-decorated, and clearly designed with thoughtful little touches. Two big, comfy beds and a stylish finish gave a great first impression. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. What they fail to mention is that there’s a nightclub on the ground floor with a courtyard directly below the rooms. The noise is absolutely unbearable. Thumping bass, shouting, and music carry on until at least 2am. If you’re hoping for a peaceful night’s sleep, forget it. As if that wasn’t enough, the hotel is also right next to a train line. Every time a noisy train passed, the room shook—which, ironically, became a brief break from the relentless nightclub noise. To top it off, the room was ridiculously hot. There’s no air conditioning, and when I asked for a fan, I was told none were available. It was like trying to sleep in a sauna. I booked for two nights but couldn’t face a second. I left early and won’t be returning. Avoid this hotel if you value sleep.

My first impression of the hotel was great, quirky and camp but I didn’t read the reviews as extensively as I should. The Sunset Room was beautiful but directly above a Cabaret Bar with loud music that is open until 3am, I decided to move to another hotel at 11pm to get some sleep. Perfect if you’re on a drunken night out in Leeds but not for a work trip.

The appartement was quirky and different, loved it. On three floors with a roof terrace. It was clean with comfy beds and had the option of purchasing different drinks and snacks and even little sets. Very central for all you need to do in Leeds too. Highly recommend

Fantastic central location right in the heart of the best night life and other amenities. We had a lovely room which was large and clean. The hotel manager was very helpful and pleasant. A noisy location through no fault of their own due to the adjacent railway line but all was done that they could to mitigate that. The complimentary tea/coffee was very welcome.

Fab hotel, very quirky. Noise levels as expected for above a nightclub, however if you’re just wanting a good sleep once the clubs have closed then this is the place. Very comfortable bed/pillows and lovely and clean. Wonderful staff too. I would definitely return. Room 4 at the top was probably the quietest for a better sleep.

Stayed here on a Saturday night after a concert. The room was lovely and both the room and bathroom were immaculate! Staff were all very friendly. I loved that they provided extra's if needed (mini toiletries, phone charger, snacks ect). Yes it was slightly noisy but it was above a bar and it was a saturday night however I was expecting the noise level to be a lot worse after reading other reviews. Still managed to get a full night of undisturbed sleep without the use of the ear plugs provided. Thank you for a lovely stay and will be back if in the area again
