Hotel Staubbach

This Hotel was picked for our 3 day stay in Lauterbrunnen because of the 1. VIEW 2. Parking 3. Elevator But, now I know, the Hotel Staubbach is so much more. I just read the gentleman’s review who was recently staying at the Hotel and he said ‘it is old and worn and should be torn down and replaced’. To be honest, my first thought was ‘I probably could not afford it if it was sleek and modern’. This Hotel was so much more than my first 3 requirements. It felt like coming to a home in the beautiful Alps. A home that welcomed you and actively tried to fill your needs. The staff was genuinely welcoming…from the attentive manager, Adam, who saw that everything was running smoothly and the breakfast crew who cheerfully saw to the needs of everyone…to the lovely lady with her cleaning cart in the hall, slipping me an extra little chocolate. Yes, this is NOT a sleek and modern Hotel, it might creak and have a couple of worn bits. It is more like a gracious older grand Lady sharing her perfect stop on earth. Enjoy!

The room was comfortable but we spent most of our time on the balcony absorbing the amazing beauty of the Staubbach Falls, the mountains, river, and valley, and enjoying walks through the town. Best breakfast in our 15-week travels this year. Tristan at the front desk was friendly and very helpful — we would have missed Trummelbach Falls had it not been for his recommendation. Easy walk to/from the train station and bus stops.

Excellent location Amazing team Clean and family friendly place. Offers as many comforts as it possibly can. Comfortable beds, lots of place to lounge during the day and family room with microwave to warm up food. Recommend this place especially if you have small children. Overall awesome.
