Lovely building and location - out of the busy but not too far!
Nicely decorated and furnished albeit it does feel like a walk if you’re in one of the 400+ numbered rooms!
Ate in the brasserie one evening food was good but the battered fish, whilst plentiful, was maybe a bit “soggy”.
The breakfasts were excellent and if you don’t see anything you like then maybe best stay at home!
Room was huge as was the comfy bed.
A lot of new staff learning the ropes ahead of the peak season but can’t fault their welcome, manners and cheery dispositions.
Hotel is very convenient for the lake boats which is just so easy, topped off with parking too!
Would go back.

Property nice. Staff hit and miss.
Woke up at 1130 at night by staff knocking on door of wrong room. No apology and nothing done to make it right. Unacceptable for price paid.

Tired hotel - although the bathrooms was OK & fairly modern, I would guess the room hadn’t been decorated in 20 plus years

Been staying here since 2006 but not been since 2021. Disappointed that hotel not the luxury it once was, mainly because the dining wasn't very good now. Breakfast was good but not as good as before- no freshly squeezed orange juice & menu limited - no eggs royale, eggs florentine nor kippers etc. In the evening we had the same menu every night in the restaurant-food was good but variety would have been better. e had meals in the bar too & that menu stayed the same. Most disappointingly of all was when the Brasserie opened at the weekend, but instead of the lovely menu formerly offered this time it was the same old bar menu served in a different area!

Excellent all staff were very friendly and accommodating. We could not have asked for a better place to stay right on the water front. The staff were so amazing always, answering our questions with a smile from the hallways to the front reception. The spa was out of this world.

The reception staff bickering between themselves were clearly stressed and had issues, slamming the phone 4 times whilst trying to get hold of a colleague was quiet uncomfortable for the 4 guests trying to check in. Once in our room, the bar staff and restaurant staff were professional but lacked warmth, the breakfast team were amazing, professional, efficient and friendly a credit to the hotel. Food was good.

Not as expected. We have stayed here 3 times before and was fantastic this is why we booked again. I know we came on a deal for B&B but what a joke the room was. Then the bed was so soft and full of lumps it should have been thrown in the skip a long time ago. Thankfully the staff on reception changed our room and the bed was very soft but had no lumps. I was disappointed that in the room there were no pictures hanging up and no full length mirror, not even inside the wardrobe door. The only thing going for the room was that it was clean.
The swimming pool was as I remember it...Brilliant.
Breakfast was very good but where have the gorgeous curtains gone and the white linen tablecloths? The new look of the hotel looks cheap. The new seat covers in the conservatory are poor. I could have done a better job myself and I don't even sew! Thank goodness you have kept the nice pieces of furniture around the hotel but they look out place as the hotel is not high end anymore. We will not be staying here again.
