Scourie Hotel

Lovely , lovely, lovely! The bar and restaurant area was beautiful. The real fire ( needed in August!) was very welcoming to sit and have a drink by. We had the meal in the restaurant and the venison loin was superb. Breakfast was equally enjoyable and they even had smoked, streaky bacon. Dawn was exceptional and she really made our night there memorable. Fishing lodges ( number 23) were really smashing as we had a little sitting room to sit in and chat before we went to bed.

Booked a 3 night Bed and Breakfast fishing trip for my wife and I.On arrival we were shown to room 20.Supposed to have a courtyard view.This was actually the kitchen wall with no view except a pile of scaffolding poles.However we were there for the fishing.We spoke to the owner Richard on Sun evening regarding fishing and we explained to him that with my age nearly 80 I wanted easy access to the lochs.Following morning Richard allocated us to Loch Gorm which he assured us was a casual 10min stroll.Ha Ha after an hour and a half fighting through long grass,heather,gorse and sloe bushes and after falling into a concealed burn 3 times and putting my back out,we returned to the hotel not having seen a loch at all.Spoke to gentleman at reception he confirmed it was no 10 min stroll.We asked for a boat complete with outboard for the next day with easy access.He informed us that Richard would organise this with us.We had no contact with Richard at all until we were checking out.We paid £660 for 3 nights B&B and never wet a line.After 40 years of fishing all over Scotland,we have never been treated like this.

We just love the Scourie Hotel. We have been many times now and we have never been disappointed. Richard, Fiona and family are the perfect hosts and do everything to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. This also applies to the excellent team in both the bar and dining room who are both friendly and professional. The food was delicious and the pre- and after-dinner drinks in the bar great fun with conversation amongst the guests often coming back to the amazing fishing available through the hotel. A wonderful place for fishing but also for discovering this absolutely stunning part of Scotland! We will be back. :-)

A quaint place that matches the environment, Scourie Hotel is along the beautiful North Coast 500. The hotel appears to cater to the many outdoor people who return year after year (e.g., fishers, hill climbers, walkers, etc.) and is equally welcoming to new guests. We enjoyed a night's stay, including dinner and breakfast. The rooms have everything needed. You can easily walk from the hotel down to the beach and other places of interest nearby.

This place is a bit pricey, but then, we thought that of a lot of places around the highlands on our trip. Its a lovely hotel. There are a few little tatty bits but this must be like painting the Forth Bridge to maintain, so they're doing well. Its a short walk down to the harbour to admire the glorious view and the location is great for a stop on a road trip. Our room was huge and well appointed and had everything we needed. They don't do TVs in the rooms but thats not why you're here, and we always have a couple of books on the go anyway. You will receive a lovely welcome at reception and everyone working here seems great. My only issue was food related. It was all very good and well cooked, but, for me it should have arrived hotter (I know its a pet bugbear of mine, but thats how I feel). Its the only thing that stops me giving this the full five stars. Overall though, we really enjoyed our stop here.

Excellent hotel run by a very friendly family. From the minute you walk in the door you just relax. The welcome was wonderful and our room was a good size and very clean. Only one some complaint, we had absolutely no view - we looked on to the back of a building. However, we were only staying for one night so not a major issue. The lounge and bar areas are cozy and inviting. The food is fabulous as was breakfast the next morning. We just wished we were staying for longer!
