The Lodge at Woodloch

I had high expectations based on friends' recommendations and public reviews, but the experience fell short given the high price point. While some staff—like Courtney at the restaurant, Talia the nutritionist, and our dinner server—were excellent, overall service felt inconsistent and, at times, unfriendly. Several staff members seemed disengaged, especially at the spa and during certain activities. The property is charming and my room was beautiful, quiet, and comfortable. The spa was pleasant, though the lack of an outdoor pool and uncomfortable lounge chairs were drawbacks. Meal logistics were frustrating—breakfast ends too early at 9:30am, and having to eat one of our three included meals in a to-go box due to scheduling felt out of place at this price level. In short: lovely setting and a few standout staff, but inconsistent service and logistical issues don’t justify the cost. I'd only consider returning at a significantly lower rate.

This was hands down the best experience my husband and I ever had on vacation. From the time you arrive until the moment you leave you are treated like royalty. Every person we met knew it was our anniversary and went out of their way to make us feel special. Extremely accommodating on dietary needs which I needed and felt no drop in quality. The room was massive and so clean and the surroundings were picturesque with wildlife that was calm and relaxed. The spa was heaven. The food was too much but wonderful and so much variety. The art classes were an amazing treat and we came home with some nice pieces. Only thing they could improve is gift shop. Otherwise 10000 stars!!

third time stay. first time was magnificent. there were nine of us. was so impressed, we invited more family to join us, the next time. i was so embarrassed. after all the build up.. the attention level was bare minimum. a couple years passed, and seven of us from the original group, decided to do a short get-away with returning. horrible. the room furniture had drawers that would not stay closed. we were in the north wing where there was no elevator. the food was worse than diner food. more like generic grocery food. for breakfast.. just two meat choices. neither was any good. ordered scrambled eggs. found out they were powdered eggs. no family shared sides. got sick on the salad. i think the cheese had gone bad. we went on a deal.. which was still very expensive. they said the water activities were open, but there was no staff outside. none of the arcade rides or games worked. no smoking section. if they weren't going to provide a room for smokers, they should have at least offered an outside tented area. a lot of sprinkling of rain. never liked that the large outside, umbrella patio did not allow us to drink alcohol. it was just for sitting. no drinking, poolside. no real food, pool side. oh. we ran out of toilet paper. when sat for dinner, there was a shared salad there.. but no salad bowls. we asked for some. they no sooner got placed, on our table.. then the main waitress said she'd remove them to make more table space. this same waitress, we asked for refills. we could tell by her attitude, she wasn't going to get them for us. when another waitress came over to see if we needed anything.. we asked her for the refills. she got them for us.
