𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐋𝐋 we headed to the area to hike the Cinque Terre. We didn’t think the rooms there represented good value for money and so we picked Via Chiodo Luxury Rooms. On reflection, we made a good decision and I would recommend the accommodation. It’s good value, clean and nicely decorated. 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄 Emails were responded to quickly and we were able to check in out of hours by providing our passport details in advance. Instructions were clear with the necessary access codes. 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌 The rooms are in an older building and can be accessed via a small lift or stairs (there are a few stairs to the lift). It was a decent size and well-decorated, just like the pictures. Very modern, with a bit of character and a good-sized bathroom. However, there was hardly any bathroom storage but there was a small stool that we were able to use to put some things on. As usual, there was a bidet which I think European guests may appreciate but I would have preferred a bathroom unit for storage! There was an oddly long tap that took up half the sink making it a little impractical. There was no soap dish. They do provide soap, body wash and shampoo all in one but no conditioner or body lotion (it would have been nice to see more sustainable packaging). There is air conditioning, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, a free safe and a fridge. Coffee was restocked daily. There isn’t much natural light in the rooms. We were in room 14 and had a view of the street outside. 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 Just around the corner from the hotel, there is some parking. It’s limited but we found a bay to park for drop-off only as your time here is limited. They are blue bays which are payable (white are free and yellow bays are for residents). Download the Easypark app to pay for the parking time you use. You can add more time on from the app if needed or end the parking early and you will be charged for what you use. We then moved our car to a free spot a train stop away from La Spezia and went from that point to do the first part of the Cinque Terre. On our return, we got the train back to the car which took about 5 minutes and then drove back to the hotel to collect our cases. 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 The accommodation is about a 15 minute walk through the town from the train station. It's on the edge of the main town so mostly away from the noise although we did hear a bit and the door entry was quite loud and so it woke me every time someone came in. Near a beautiful park and within walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants. Being closer to the train station would have been more practical but it was only a 15 minute walk in and we didn’t mind this in return for the style and value of the accommodation.
