Shambhala Fuerteventura

Shambhala Fuerteventura is a fantastic hotel—modern, well-maintained, and beautifully designed. The facilities looked fresh and new, and the buffet breakfast was good and varied. Our apartments (the two of them) were well-equipped, and the location between Puerto del Rosario and Corralejo made it convenient for exploring the northern part of the island. However, our experience was significantly affected by a major issue. Due to a booking conflict, we were asked to change apartments after the first night, which already surprised us. The day after, as we were away at the time of the change, the hotel staff was responsible for transferring our belongings to the new apartment. When we returned, we discovered that some of our personal belongings had been stolen during this process. These included a protein shake, a protein yoghurt, and a packet of wipes, among other items. The explanation given was absolutely unacceptable: the staff assumed they could take any items they wanted because they thought we were leaving. We have kept all the pictures and screenshots from our WhatsApp conversations when the incident happened. The front desk offered to reimburse us for the stolen items, but we had to go through the hassle of repurchasing them ourselves during our time off. However, some were irreplaceable, as we had brought them from Belgium as gifts for a friend on the island. The hotel's only compensation was a 20% discount on a future stay, which we will certainly not be using, as we have no intention of returning. This experience left a lasting negative impression. It’s a shame, as Shambhala Fuerteventura could have been a place we would return to, but the lack of proper resolution for such an unacceptable situation overshadowed our stay. We have kept all proof and documentation in case the hotel management attempts to publicly deny anything stated in this review.

Stayed here for our last 3 nights in Fuerteventura. An attractive apartment hotel with nice beachy decor and lovely planted gardens. Overall not a bad experience but there were some major flaws. The beds are small and very hard - had to use multi-folded blanket underneath to soften it up. Given that breakfast is usually included in similar type hotels, this one was a paltry affair with some weird offerings - sliced white toast and a tiny bowl of corn flakes between two people. Really? A more adult and healthier option would be muesli and some locally baked rolls. In fact there were no options - you got what you were given, the same every day, and not much of it. A very small choice of eggs or toast with ham/salmon which came plain and undressed. Hot drinks were bad. Three coffee machines/makers in the apartment, but no kettle for making tea. We made do with a saucepan. This place is fine if all you want to do is flop around the pool all day - there is little else around, apart from a busy road on one side, and a small urbanisation with a couple of eateries on the other. A car pretty essential to get to supermarket for supplies. If you don't want the experience of the big resort hotels then this would be an okay and cheaper alternative.

Shambhala Fuerteventura was just perfect place for the start of our 5-week vacation in the Canary Islands. To anchor our review: My family (husband and 11-year-old daughter) are Peruvian, but live in NYC and travel widely. We love good food and I look for places that are both aesthetically pleasing and clean. Shambhala Fuerteventura checked all the boxes. First, the location is perfect. It's in a residential and quiet area. We rented a car and traveled around. Corralejo is just a short ride away and the beaches on that part of the island are gorgeous with low wind (in July/August). Second, the hotel itself is new and well maintained. Everyone who works there is ready to make your stay as comfortable as they can in the most friendly of manners. The food at the Jablito is delicious, fresh and healthful. Must tries: the tosta de cherry (to die for) and (at my meat-loving husband's surprise), the veggie burger (delicious), and El Jablito salad (also exquisite). The pool is clean and well looked after. Generally, you feel welcomed and special! Third, the apartments are tastefully and simply decorated. They look exactly as the pictures! Since our vacation was on longer side, we opted to stay in one of the least expensive apartments (room 313). It overlooked the parking lot. Not ideal, but honestly it didn't matter! The apartment reeked cleanliness. Do know that I'm difficult to please. Wherever I go, I notice the grime in the cleanest of places and then feel impelled to clean and disinfect. I was happily and pleasantly satisfied with the state of the apartment, the indoor and outdoor furniture, utensils and dishware. Final words: We did laundry there, the washer and dryer were clean (no guck anywhere). I had a massage; highly recommend! In sum, this place is truly perfect! Don't think twice, book it!

Nice and new hotel. We had a room for 4. We had to leave it around 11 but our plane left in the evening. We got the possibility to shower in one of the rooms. Great room. An extra fan would have been nice. The upper room had ceiling fan but the living room with the sofa bed not. Therefore it was hot and we were bothered by mosquitoes.

Loved my stay here! Everything is taken care for and the staff could not be more hospitable. They offered me free breakfast even though I didn’t pay for it initially and were really accommodating to my intolerances. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a less touristy place that is still not to far from the nice beaches and interesting places!!

Our time in Shambhala Fuerteventura could not have been better! It started to be great when Fernanda (Receptionist of the Shambhala Fuerteventura) contacted me concerning our upcoming time/holiday at the hotel. Fernanda is such a heartwarming and professional person and makes you feel welcome the moment she gets in touch with you. In fact everyone at the Shambhala was very kind and helpful! Thank you so much! You are a great team!!! Fernanda helped us making our stay the stay we hoped it to be when we booked the Shambhala Fuerteventura. Thank you so much Fernanda! We were two "nomad girls" :) travelling together for the first time (or first holiday together). I arrived one day earlier than my friend and had not been travelling alone the last 2 years ... the moment I met Fernanda the journey felt good and I felt like coming home. No, better because the Shambala is such a wonderful and beautiful place to be. :) We had such a nice apartment. The view was great and verything was clean and everything we need was there, just perfect. The pool bar was exceptional, too. The sunbeds at the pool were really (!) comfortable and all made out of massive wood, very high quality. A light music played at the bar during daytime, just easy music and just the right voume (decent). Loved it. Good vibes :) We ordered healty food at the beach bar and had daily a wonderful breakfast. The breakfast and every food you order is made fresh for you, every single day. You can enjoy the breakfast your on your own terrace if you want or directly at the beach bar (your toes in the sand if you wish). The Shambhala is situated just perfect. The most woderful white (and guarded!) beach is a short 10 Minutes drive from the Hotel. We had a car – what was great for exploring the island. We loved to go to Lajares, a city very close by; it was our absolute favorite spot ... Small, great food and a surfer/digital nomad community with a relaxed vibe. Don't miss it! Our second favourite city was El Cotillo for watching the sunset with a drink and eating fresh fish. I was so happy our Hotel was not directly in one of the cities because we loved the calmness of the Shambhala and its distance to the "hot spots" which might get a little overcrowded during summer. From the Airport it was an easy 24 minutes drive to the Shambhala. We had a parking place there and all hotel doors opened with an app (innovative, worked great) Last but not least: The Shambhala has a wonerful Yoga room AND a fitness studio with the newest fitness devices – all free to use anytime it feels right for you. There are yoga classes to attend and ... in near future there will be another room with large tables where you can (co)work if you choose the Shambhala for a longer stay as a digital nomad for example. What I will definitively do next time :) I am looking very much forward in getting back to Shambhala very soon. I already miss thiswonderful place and the exceptional island of Fuerteventura. Everyt
