Our short stay at La Digue was a big success because of our stay at Lucy’s guest house.The guest house and the rooms are very convenient, sparkling clean and it is strategically located in the middle of the village , a bit further up, which allows you to easily discover La Digue. What impressed us though, was the two young owners who are so willing to assist you in everything.Nothing you may ask for is too much for them.They arranged our last minute pick up, the bike rentals, they offered valuable advice on what to do during our stay and always made sure we had all we needed. A big thank you goes to them for making our stay such a great one. For sure we will be back

Our room was small but cozy and very clean. It had a nice balcony to enjoy the evenings. Guesthouse overall was very clean, we also felt safe there. There is a shared kitchen you can use, it was very well equipped. Alex was very helpful and always replied very fast to our questions. Wifi was good. Guesthouse is located close to the main area, but has enough distance to be more quiet than the center. You can easily walk or bike to the center, but to explore the whole island definitely would reccommend getting a bicycle. There was an option to rent bikes through Alex, we did that, price was good, bikes were not fancy but definitely did the job. There was also option to get breakfast provided by them at extra cost, unfortunately that was not available during our stay, otherwise would definitely reccommend to opt in for that. Also, laundry service was available at extra cost, so you are able to travel light.

I had no trouble finding the guesthouse. I just followed the main road from the jetty, and when I reached the right alley, there was a sign directing me to the guesthouse. The walk took 15 minutes. While the main road is paved, the alley is dusty, beware! I had contacted the owner beforehand on WhatsApp (works well and he answers quickly!) to let him know which ferry I will be on, so he was waiting for me. He also printed me a boarding pass for my return boat, and did laundry. Laundry was 10 SCR per piece. There are four rooms in the guesthouse. My ground floor room was simple but clean and in good condition. There was a king size bed, a small desk and chair, a fridge, and a closet. In the closet, there was a safe, but it was useless as it was not attached to anything so basically anyone entering the room could just carry it away under his arm. Wifi was free, unlimited, and reliable. It was fast enough for browsing, but not ideal for videos. The A/C worked and managed to cool the room down somewhat compared to outside temperatures, but it was by no means the most efficient one out there and did not meet my expectations. There were universal sockets available as well as a UK socket by the bed. The room is not very well designed as the bathroom is huge but the room itself is a bit cramped. They could have used all that extra space that is now in the bathroom for a sitting area in the main room instead. The bathroom came with a shower that only had a wall-mounted showerhead. Water pressure was adequate as such, but a handheld shower would have been nice to wash off all the sand. There is a tap outside for this purpose, but the pressure there is terrible and thus that tap is of little use. Hot water was ample. Beware that check-out is at 10 am, which is very early, and they will not store your luggage. You can leave it at the guesthouse if you wish, but that would mean keeping it unsuperwised in the open-air lobby, free for grabs. There was also no possibility to extend the check-out until later so I had to take the 7:30 am ferry instead of the more leisurely 1:30 pm one that I had originally booked. The guesthouse enjoys a good location; there is a supermarket and many eateries within a few minutes’ walk, and you can also easily reach L’Union Estate on foot. I paid 100 EUR per night, which is quite a lot considering the level of accommodations, which are perhaps at 2.5 star standards. But price levels in the Seychelles are high and even more so on La Digue.

La Guesthouse par excellence ! C’est la deuxième fois que nous venons à La Digue, et enchantés par cette île, nous avons décidé de revenir pour notre anniversaire de mariage et y passer 15 nuits. Nous avons porté notre choix sur la Guesthouse Lucy’s. Avant ma réservation, j’avais pris soin de bien regarder tous les commentaires sur cette Guesthouse. Je suis de nature assez exigeante en ce qui concerne la propreté, et sur beaucoup d’autres détails qui peuvent améliorer ou gâcher votre séjour. Cette Guesthouse répondait à tous les critères que j’attendais. C’est avec beaucoup d’empressement que j’avais hâte de la découvrir car j’étais quasiment certaine de ne pas m’être trompée. Et qu’elle ne fut pas notre surprise en découvrant cette charmante petite famille. Pour commencer, j’ai eu plusieurs contacts avec Alex par WhatsApp depuis la France avant notre voyage et à chaque fois il a répondu très vite à mes messages et s’est montré vraiment serviable et gentil. Puis, j’ai découvert en arrivant à la Guesthouse la très charmante Cleopatre, sa femme,. C’est un grand sourire et une extrême gentillesse qui la définissent. Au long de nos 15 jours passés là-bas, nous n’avons vraiment rien à reprocher à cette fée du logis. La maison est d’une propreté parfaite. Quand vous rentrez dans le petit hall à l’intérieur, il se dégage une odeur très agréable et là, on se dit que l’on n’a rien à craindre niveau hygiène. Comme déjà dit, nous étions là pour notre anniversaire de mariage et ce charmant couple nous avait préparé notre chambre avec de belles surprises. Il y avait des ballons, une bouteille de vin blanc, tout cela joliment disposé pour nous offrir une chambre très agréable et un bel accueil chaleureux ! Tout au long de notre séjour, nous avons vraiment été gâtés et choyés par cette famille, que l’on n’oubliera pas. Toute leurs gentilles attentions nous ont beaucoup touchés. Un jour Alex nous a offert des bananes, un autre jour, c’était Cleopatre avec des papayes.. Je m’étais fait mal à un genou et elle s’est empressée de vite me proposer un spray pour apaiser mes douleurs. Ce sont vraiment des personnes serviables et toujours prêtes à vous aider et à améliorer votre séjour. Et sans oublier la petite Cassandra, leur petite fille de 3 ans, très polie et très agréable ! Pour décrire un peu ce séjour, concernant la chambre climatisée, elle est nettoyée chaque jour par Cleopatre et Alex eux-mêmes qui prennent soin de changer les serviettes de toilette et les draps régulièrement. Également, les serviettes de plage sont proposées. Il y a une cuisine commune pour ceux qui ont envie de cuisiner, et vraiment rien ne manque ! C’est un endroit très calme et très bien situé sur l’île. La location de vélo nous a été proposée par Cleopatre à des prix attractifs également. Juste à côté, à quelques coups de pédales en vélo, il y a un supermarché et l’endroit où se trouve la Guesthouse est parfait pour visiter l’île car elle se situe presque centrée entre les

Très bon accueil, chaleureux. Propriétaires aux petits soins pour que notre séjour se passe bien, extrêmement réactifs et arrangeants. Chambre confortable bien équipée, terrasse agréable, très bon petit déjeuner pour 10 euros par personne. Cuisine partagée très fonctionnelle. Nous recommandons! On se sent très bien, comme à la maison!
