Le Moulin des Ruats

The hotel and restaurant were both excellent. The room was spacious with a large comfortable bed and balcony overlooking the river and trees. Dinner was exceptional with a good choice of freshly prepared and home-cooked food of the highest quality; there was a wide range of wines including very good quality local wines. Breakfast offered a large selection including fresh fruit, home-made yoghurt, pastries and jams, as well as cheese, eggs and home cured ham. We would highly recommend both the hotel and the restaurant for its exceptional cooking.

We spent one night at the Moulin having reserved one of their special deals. If the price was indeed reasonable, it was tiny, gave onto the Parking lot and was hot and stuffy. Our dinner, included in the price, was creative but indifferent and poorly displayed on the plates. All this is a shame because the service was very amiable and the setting charming. An increase in the price of the room might provide a more spacious room but sadly would not improve the food.

This was truly a great stay. I loved my room - a mixture between old and new, classic and sophisticated, a bit old-fashioned and yet new. My room had a large terrace, which I also enjoyed. The food at the restaurant was excellent. It was truly something different and something exciting. I also loved the breakfast. The young family, running the property, and their staff were very dedicated and friendly. And the location is outstanding, in the middle of the Vallée du Cousin, you spend your nights and days right by the river. Love it. And our four-legged friends are also welcome :-) A big plus! Highly recommended.

Tout proche d'Avallon, mais au calme dans la vallée du Cousin, ce moulin du 18ème a beaucoup de charme. L'accueil est chaleureux, les chambres sont toutes décorées différemment, la literie est de qualité, la propreté irréprochable. Seul petit bémol, les chambres confort sont petites, pour un séjour de plusieurs nuits il est préférable d'opter pour la catégorie supérieure. L'hôtel dispose d'une salle de séminaires pouvant accueillir une quinzaine de personnes et d'un salon bar très cosy. Quant à la salle de restaurant, elle offre une vue sur la rivière, la roue du moulin éclairée le soir ajoutant au charme du lieu. Et une très bonne table, voir notre avis sur le restaurant par ailleurs. Quant au petit-déjeuner buffet, il propose un large choix de produits salés et sucrés, fromages régionaux, jambon fait maison, de même que les crêpes, cakes, confitures et jus de fruits pressés. De quoi bien démarrer la journée avant de visiter Vézelay tout proche ou les lacs du Morvan.

Hôtel familial avec de jolis détails. Les plus sont certainement l’équipe prévenante, la douche bien chaude et le buffet du petit déjeuner. Ainsi que les touches de luxe ici et la. Le restaurant est bon et les desserts fabuleux. Bref on s’y sent bien et le rapport qualité prix est imbattable.

Nous avons privatisé ce magnifique hôtel pour le baptême de notre fille. Et tout a été parfait du début jusqu’à la fin! Cloé est une femme d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle, son mari est un merveilleux cuisinier et leurs employés sont tous adorables. Nous étions 45 personnes et nous avons tous été convaincu. Nous reviendrons avec très grand plaisir !
