Simply superb place to enjoy some relaxation and sleep. Have been their guest for several years when visiting John Smith Rock Festival and don't regret this choice a bit! The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The rooms and housing are clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The location is simply stunning as the nature is just amazing (in the summer there's ofc mosquitos). Restaurant is good and the breakfast is tasty and has a nice variety of foods (even for us with limited diets). We have stayed in Pihatupa (room for 2), Riihisviitti and Riihihuone and they are all solid options (Riihisviitti has an own sauna!). The Varjola also offers a wide range of activities from nature biking to river drafting. If you choose to stay here you can't go wrong! Can't wait for the next time!

Our one night visit was so bad. The Varsta suite was run-down and dirty. There were spider webs, ants coming in from corners (maybe ant hill under the house, because it was so bad..) and from everything we saw that cleaning has not been done well at all. There was very bad smell in separate sauna and shower was off from wall (only holes in the wall told there used to be some kind of holder for it). At some places terrace was rotten wood. So it really would need some maintenance and repair. Receptionist at the bistro was stressed out and we didn't feel ourselves welcomed in any way (we came at 5 pm and our suite key was missing..). There weren't enough workers so it was a small amount of people they could serve food to. The breakfast was the only positive surprise. In the morning I told about our disappoin**ent face to face, but there weren't anything they could do. I was told to send email and I did, but the responce from the boss/householder was a joke. He obviously has his own way to do business, takes your money for sure but you don't get the value

Must have been challenging through Covid-times. A lot of corners need updating and even though it was World Rally event weekend coming up there were no restaurant service available on Thu evening.
All the best and maybe we come again as well.

Very nice location in the heart of Finnish lakeside. Cottages were clean and new. More under construction. Perfect for overnight stay. Not for hanging around during rainy day due to limited indoor space though. Excellent dinning and good breakfast. Great options for outdoor activities and group gatherings.

Majoitus rivitalomaisessa rakennuksessa. Huone oli kompakti, mutta majoittaa 4hlöä parven ansiosta. Lattialämmitys oli erittäin mukava näin talviaikaan. Mahtavat maisemat luontoon ja erityisesti Kuusan kosken suuntaan. Idyllinen miljöö, ja maittava aamiainen vanhassa kivinavetassa. Tarjolla monenlaisia aktiviteetteja, joita emme tosin tällä reissulla kerenneet kokeilemaan.

Siisti, moderni, uudennihkeä standard huone omalla terassilla. Upea sijainti Kuusankosken kupeessa. Hyvä aamupala. Standard huone on pieni mutta hyvällä ilmalla muutaman yön yöpymiseen sopiva, sillä tetassi ja parvi tuovat lisätilaa. Pientä jääkaappia olisin toivonut omien eväiden säilytykseen.

Maisema oli mitä hienoin, puhdas ja siisti mökki mutta pieni, ilmastointi olisi saanut olla parempi, koska oli kova helle.
