​Hotel Route-Inn Kumagaya​

前回より朝食のメニューが減っており、残念だった。 お風呂は2時まで入れて、とても良かった。

Travelling in group of 4 to Gotemba, Haneda, Fukaya/Kumagaya and Nikko. Japan hotels have a standard special check out at 11am. This is well known to most Japan traveler. This Route inn hotel chain check out at their own rules of 10am. Checking out later than 10am and they will penalize every person of Yen1000 per person per room per hour and most interesting point is this special check out odd hours is not mentioned to customer during check in. We checked out around 11:15am If customer refuse to pay the extras, the front desk will threaten to call the police. Not only once she threaten to call the police but more than 3times. No room for negotiation nor discussion as per claimed by this front desk staff that all Route inn hotel chains has a standard of check out at 10am not 11am because it is a business hotel. In contrast later on, I have a quick check but found some Route Inn hotels check out at 11am but some check out at 10am. It is understandable that most Japanese speaks poor English and this front desk dare to tell customer to learn Japanese instead of to improve her own English skill when deals with foreigner. She puts Japan right up into very shameful manner. Conclusion, will never stay in any of Route Inn hotel chain for future travels to Japan. Finally, we have no choice but to pay up the penalty of Y4000 for the late check out as I feel there is no point to negotiate with a humanize robot on the front desk. With barely the extras Yen4000, Route Inn hotel chain got a slammed with this unfavourable review. Think twice whether its worth it. Route Inn has never been up to international standards. Never have this issue even we have travels to several places/hotels over this trip. Stay at your own risk. Beware as they have different check out hours that may ends up with surprises.
