Rahaa Resort Maldives

Hôtel sympa Personnel de l’hôtel adorable. Peu d’activité. Ne pas y rester plus de 5 jours.

My partner and I stayed at the resort out of season (June 2025), fully expecting rain, but the weather was amazing with only two short showers during the day in two weeks. Travelling out of season also meant the hotel was very quiet ( 3 couples), which enhanced the experience as it felt like we had our own island paradise. Although this was also enhanced by the other couples on the island at the same time as we had some brilliant nights in the bar. Despite the low number of guests, there was absolutely no evidence of reduced services. Our rooms were cleaned every day, including fresh towels and sun lounger towels, there were always bar staff to serve drinks, plus two members of staff in the Spa and two in the water sports centre at all times. Azzez, who runs the front of the house, was very attentive and always available to sort any requests from the guests, including arranging a lovely set up at sunset to allow me to propose to my girlfriend. Brando (Scuba Steve) runs the warer centre and runs the trips from the island. He is friendly, knowledgable about the Maldives, and passionate about preserving the local environment. Again, the water sports team do a great job and werent at all pushy about the trips and sports but instead were very accommodating when we made requests. The food was amazing it was always varied and very tasty. The chefs were so accommodating and would even cook individual dishes if requested. Big thanks to Niahl and his team, who work so hard. The island is very rustic, natural, and truly beautiful. The rooms are spacious and of a good standard, but if you want the instagram 5 star treatment, this resort is not for you. The snorkling of the main beach is ace, and there were plenty of fish and rays to watch, but it definitely takes beach shoes as there is a lot of coral. The negatives and there aren't many, but no where is perfect. The coffee in the morning is often cold if you aren't there at 08.30. The open bathrooms mean you are quite often joined by mosquites when doing your business, although the staff do try to keep on top of this by spraying a couple of times a week. Clearly, the mosquites aren't the hotels fault, and it is a jungle, so take plenty of mozzie spray and plugs. A number of previous reviews have mentioned the attached island, firstly the hotel isnt keen on letting guests over there, as it essenntially their stores and workshops, so isnt as pristine as it could be and the beach on the far side is covered in litter washing in from the sea, but this isnt the resorts fault. The plans are to develop the second island in the coming years, so this issue should disappear. Finally the resort is amazing, beautiful and so relaxing, the staff are always polite and work so hard, they do a great job. My advice is simple: remember you are getting the chance to experience paradise at a reasonable price, and you are on a jungle island, so that brings its challenges such as insects a

Beyond exceptional from start to finish, Rahaa is a piece of paradise, which won’t disappoint. ALL the staff from the owner right down to the ground maintenance guys are attentive, always on hand to help, the service is simply outstanding. We enjoyed the food, always found something fulfilling to eat. The island itself has been kept very natural embracing the Maldivian vibe, the marine life is some of the best we have ever seen. There are truly not enough words to say how perfect our stay has been and if asked would you come back to visit again, absolutely.. in a heartbeat 💗 We have absolutely had the most amazing time.
