This was our third trip to Poland, but our first to Krakow, and we weren't disappointed, although.............. Arriving just after Boxing day (27/12/2024), our taxi transfer was supposed to meet us at the airport at 11:15, he finally arrived at 13:35!!!!!! - Not a great start. The Antique Apartments from the outside looks like many of the buidlings in Krakow - some character, but possibly a little tired. We were greeted by Raddick, who sorted out our keys, gave us a run down on the access and facilities, and we were off to our 'studio'. The room itself is large enough, a separate toilet and walk in shower, which is always welcome, a wardrobe with plenty of room and a small kitchenette with microwave, kettle, fridge and a hotplate to heat up meals. The bed was OK and all in all the studio was very clean. The location is superb, with the market square being just a couple minutes walk away, and there are a considerable number of options for eating and drinking with many bars and Restaurants near by. The Scandale Royal Cocktail Bar next door, is an excellent venue, and with Happy Hour between 17:00 - 19:00hrs, there is plenty of time to sample the wide array of cocktails. Jacob, is a master of cocktail making and is the font of all knowledge regarding Krakow and what/where to go/do. Only a couple negatives, with our studio apartment being on the ground floor, we had the pleasure of a discharge pipe running through the wall, and which clearly isn't sound-proofed very well, if at all. So everytime someone in the apartments above went to the toilet or showered, we knew about it at all times of the day and night!!!!!! With the exception of the two ground floor studios, which had thin blinds, all of the other apartments had curtains, this is likely not an issue at any other time of year, however, with it being Xmas, the courtyard was dowsed with significant Christmas decorations and the light pollution in our room was extensive, in other words, there was almost no difference between having the lights on or off in our room, making it particularly difficult to sleep on an evening, even after copious amounts of alcohol.
