Blue Lagoon Resort - All Inclusive

Not a 5 or 4 star hotel I've never left a review of any hotel before and it may seem like i am picking this place apart, but usually if i have a bad experience somewhere, something else makes up for it in other apsects and i just get on with it happily, but this place is different and you start to notice everything here. A bit of an echo of what seems to be the trending reviews of this place, but i'll start with the positives: Huge pool - lots of sunbeds and umbrellas so plenty of choice for where to sit. You also have the other various pools dotted around and the waterpark area too which was quite empty too with lots of beds. The slides in the waterpark were OK, more for kids which is fine but there were 4 slides, 2 different types and then the same of each but a tunnel version. If you have young kids the play areas/waterpark areas for them seem great too. Staff were great and helpful, especially guest relations / head/sous chef with working to cater for my girlfriends various allergies. They cooked her requested food at her request each day specially, which was super helpful. Rooms were always clean and tidy after the maids had been, which should be expected anyway but that is where the good really comes to an end. On arrival you have a €70 tourist tax to pay for the 2 of us, not sure why it is so high as we've been to various greek islands and countries all over europe and never seen this much for tourist tax. Rooms (1104) were stupidly small and not enough places to store clothes/makeup things etc. The sink was even in the bedroom next to the bed, not the bathroom? I didnt see any rooms of this layout on their site, or conveniently leave out those pictures of these rooms. Beds were uncomfy, we asked for a double but got 2x singles with a topper over it, maybe better than nothing some would say, but you can't sleep in the middle as you just sink and sleep in a position which just causes pain, so you just end up sleeping on each bed solo anyway. There are chickens and roosters around the vicinity of the hotel, so hearing them crow at early hours of the morning keeping you awake is absolutely awful, and sound from the main bar and wedding venue was a joke, but i guess this is down to your luck of room placement. Safe was an extra cost, not a single hotel i've been to in the last decade has reauired a payment for a safe. Room key also failed various times which is annoying and needs replacing. Restaurants were a little tacky and felt cheap, really noisy with clattering and clean up which was generally done on the restaurant floor and not taken away away from guests. Food was average at best and repeated daily, even on the themed nights there were only slight difference or added things to the menu, but it was the same at lunch and dinner daily, by day 5 i was bored of the food and didnt eat much at all. Beautiful hotel, lovely staff and very clean. About thirty minutes from Kos town and bikes and cars etc are available beside the hotel at good prices. There is also a beach. The only downside to the resort is the food. The food to be very honest was awful. The only thing we could rely on was the fruit and the salad, and the coffee wasn't bad.

I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but I needn’t of worried at all, this place is amazing! There are so many places to eat and grab drinks you could go to a different one everyday. The food is fab, so much variety and they cater for everyone! Drinks are brill to, loads of cocktails to choose from! The hotel is massive, a lot bigger than expected but you only wait a few minutes for a buggy and they take you anywhere you want to go! Nice cold water on arrival in your fridge and if you save a bottle they fill it up for you! Pools are lovely and clean and you never struggle to get a sunbed, the only thing I wasn’t keen on is the umbrellas are fixed so you can’t take them down. Staff in all bars and restaurants are all lovely and polite! Entertainment is brilliant and the staff are fab! I’m not the kind of person to visit anywhere twice but I’d go here again and again!

We returned from a 10 night stay here on saturday, we went as a family of 5 and we are all now feeling the holiday blues. We stayed in. Family room which was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. We have all had the most fantastic holiday, the hotel is clean, so much to do for all ages and there is a wide range of pools for children of all ages and adults too. There are lots of restaurants including an Italian, Chinese and Greek restaurant that you can book in to using the app. There are pancake stations at some of the pools which was a personal favourite for the children and my son loved the gyros. There are many bars but our personal favourite was Ilios, the staff here were always so kind and greeted us with a smile and just super friendly - a special mention to Kostantina who is just an amazing lady, every day greeted with a beautiful smile, she always made us feel so welcome and she added a personal touch, we all love her and our daughter was excited to learn some new Greek words each time we visited. The beach was my favourite place , you do have to pay €2.50 per lounger but I personally didn’t mind this at all as it meant it wasn’t crowded and was more relaxing. The sea was beautiful and we spent lots of time on the sea. The entertainment team work very hard and put on a brilliant show each evening. Our youngest children loved the mini disco, we all enjoyed the bingo and the evening shows, I especially loved the ABBA show and my girls loved the Disney. The best entertainment I have seen on holiday. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and is a quick journey in to Kos town, there is timetable in reception and we found it easy to get the bus on and out of Kos. We just loved our stay here and we are all having holiday blues since returning.

Just got back from an amazing week having had a wonderful holiday. We were so sad to leave and would definitely return to the hotel. If anyone is worried by any of the negative reviews, please don't worry as we have had the best time at this amazing hotel. Check in was fast despite there being lots of families to check in. Reception staff were polite and helpful. We stayed in an upstairs room overlooking the adult only pool. 3 of us (myself, husband and 17 year old daughter). There were 3 beds in the room and we all slept well on them. Plenty of storage space for us. Shower was nice and powerful apart from an issue when there was no water on our side of the hotel, but it came back on in time for our evening showers. Lovely view of the pool from our balcony and of the hillside from the front entrance. We had a slight issue with our door as the handle was stiff and wouldn't always open, but maintenance were sent out quickly and we got a replacement handle. It only took about 10 minutes to walk from our room to the main reception and there were regular buggies if we didn't fancy the walk. The buggy drivers were really friendly and obliging. We mainly ate in the buffet restaurants and tried the waterpark snack bar once. We always found plenty to eat, even with a fussy eater amongst us and we never went hungry. Food and drinks are typical of an all inclusive hotel but we were more than satisfied. The crepe station is well worth the wait in the queue. All of the restaurant and bar staff were friendly and the service was quick. We loved being round the main pool. We always managed to get sunbeds close to the front before 8.30 but they did start to get taken quickly from then onwards. The animation team are amazing. Friendly, hardworking, energetic but not pushy. We really enjoyed the evening shows and they were by far the best we have seen in any hotel. We ventured to the beach a couple of times and paid for the sunbeds. One time the sea was really choppy and the other time it was so calm and we could see loads of fish in the crystal clear water. We had beach shoes which were great as it is a bit rocky when going into the sea. We enjoyed chatting with the bartender at the beach. The hotel grounds are beautiful- clean, tidy and well kept with lots of beautiful trees, plants and flowers. It is a huge complex but doesn't take long to walk around. Most of the many cats are friendly and enjoy fuss and food. They got lots from us, although we did have our favourites! We enjoyed seeing the chickens wandering around too. We walked into Kos Town a few times. It was hot, but we managed it in about 35 minutes from the satellite area. We caught the 8.30pm bus twice, it was about 15 minutes late. Only cost us 6 euros. We caught 3 taxis back from Kos Town (we used the taxi rank by the Dolphin roundabout) 9 euros each. Our longest wait was about 30 mins (late afternoon) but when we came back late evening, our longest wait was only 5 minutes. We loved the harbour are

Amaizng 11 night stay, food was great lots of choices. Never went hungry, the Chinese was our favourite, the Italian was really nice to. The main pool Is massive, always able to get a sunbed, good atmosphere around the pool, the grounds are clean and tidy. The complex is massive, we averaged about 17,000 steps a day. Staff where all friendly and helpful, special mention to the young man who worked at the Satellite kids pool bar. Always happy to help and friendly. The entertainment team work so hard, throughout the day and night, (don’t know how they do it) Special thank you to Selena and Lily who the kids adored, and always being friendly and lovely! (Amazing tap dancing) . Lots of activities for the kids! Ours where never bored. Lots of cats around the grounds. Rooms are a bit dated in the satellite aware.

We were a family of four two adults two children and eight year old and a three year old. First impression wasn't great we arrived at 02:00 to be greeted by a rude gentleman on reception which didn't seem to have great people skills no welcome drinks or food on arrival, we were given a room which was in the 9000 block the furthest away from the main area a good 10 minute walk to the main area or you can ring and get a buggy down. You get taken there in a buggy the two members of staff were really good take your luggage to the room for you which was nice. The room we had was a family suite very clean and tidy plenty of room for a family of four the beds aren't that comfy typical holiday beds as I class them, in the fridge was two bottles of water once you've drank them they don't seem to get restock coffee and tea facilities in the room which only got replenished once within a two week stay shower and bath absolutely fine. The food is typical all inclusive wasn't amazing but wasn't rubbish either, you have to book the Italian Greek Chinese restaurant on the hotel app in the Chinese restaurant the alcohol drinks aren't included soft drinks are free I'd say the Chinese was the best along with the Italian the greek restaurant was just like eating in the main restaurant. The pool areas clean and tidy plenty of day time entertainment on, the entertainment team are great don't prester you if you choose not to join in. The pool bars open at 10am for alcohol drinks typical all inclusive drinks again not rubbish but not great no malibu either or coconut rub if that's your drink of choice you aren't having it, they do a cocktail menu or non alcoholic cocktail menu there's also slushie machines. Back to the restaurants on a evening if you don't book the restaurant the other two choices are the themed restaurant which are pretty much the same as the lunch time menu with only a few changes same food day in day out but plenty of choices to choose from and not bad food to be fair. It seems like a lot of people choose this holiday to get married at so lots of big group parties. There's an on-site shop which the prices are absolutely ridiculous if you take a 15 minute walk into kos there's a supermarket which opens at 08:00 - 22:00 price's there are a lot cheaper. The staff in the hotel are happy enough and the grounds are immaculate. If you choose to use the sunbeds on the beach they come at an extra cost aswel. Make sure you go down to the beach to see the sunset it's amazing . We hired a four seater buggy from Steve's bikes which is on-site 120 euro for the day no deposit required and he tells you the best places to visit well worth doing. Plenty of things to do to keep the kids entertained on a whole we had a really good family holiday I would definitely recommend this hotel to a family. There's plenty of cats and chickens which walk around the grounds all seem friendly but just very random.

Unwelcoming and surly reception staff. Unhelpful reception staff. Arrive to an additional €80 tax charge with no prior notification from Tui.Please be aware of this . Tiny room with sink in the bedroom - see photos. We booked a twin room with a garden view. The room we were allocated was 6003 which overlooked the kids pool, kids club and roof - see photos. A very unsympathetic lady on reception told us the hotel was full so they couldn’t move us. However, after getting the Tui rep involved they suddenly found us a room but we would have pay extra for it ! We reluctantly agreed. Moving rooms took all afternoon. Again the reception staff were not helpful. Telling us that a buggy would be 5-10 minutes and we ended up waiting an hour, giving up and walking. Had to pay an extra €700 to change to a bigger room and since found out on reviews on Trip Advisor that people had been offered different rooms at no extra cost. No still water replacement in the bedroom. Poor bedroom cleaning.Soap and shower gel not replaced. Repetitive food choice. Same everyday. Three other restaurants: Greek same food as the main restaurant. Chinese poor quality and charge for a glass of wine when we paid for all inclusive. Charge extra culture: charged to use a sunbed on the hotels own beach, extra charge for ordering a cab, charge to use the safe in your own room. Pool: over crowded, not enough sun loungers. Families having to sit on boiling hot concrete as they couldn’t get a sunbed. Overcrowding could have been improved if the beach was more of an option. Lots of children, so really only a hotel for families. Beach - very poor facilities. Shack with some drinks and a Portaloo! At dinner clearing away tablecloths and setting around us, clattering trolleys around you when service not finished. The Good Bits….. Tui Reps are available and helpful. Waiting staff in the pool restaurant particularly Roxanna. Bar staff in the pool bar particularly Kristi and Mesogeios restaurant bar particularly Roxanna. Vegan section in the restaurant. Lifeguards really vigilant but also friendly. The entertainment team work extremely hard and are very friendly. In summary: This is most definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. If you want a 5 star hotel, don’t book this hotel. If you do decide to book and find you are in block 6000, move!

Extensive hotel complex, the rooms were clean, well-kept and cleaned every day. There are several restaurants in the hotel, the food is tasty but almost the same every day. Kind friendly service. The main pool is great. The biggest advantage of the hotel is international group Palmera. Great people who, among other things, provide animations for children and adults during the day and put on an unforgettable musical show in the evening. Thanks to the manager of this group - Mirco, I had the honor to perform on stage with them. An unforgettable experience and my dream come true. These people are professionals who clearly enjoy what they do.I greet you warmly and I hope see you next year❤️.
