I'll try to remain objective and not too emotional in my review. We didn't enjoy our stay, but the hotel is nice, one of the more modern hotels in the area, and in the main part the the staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we paid more with Jet2 for a Sea View room. We were given a ground floor room with a balcony permanently in the shade and right on a very busy main road. I mean 'busy'. Seemed to be a constant stream of lorries, local buses, vans, cars and bikes. As we were on the ground floor we had people milling about our balcony at all hours just chatting. Seemed to be locals more so that tourists. To add insult, the hotel is still being renovated and we had a builders van pretty much camped outside our window. The lack of privacy, lack of sun and the noise made us very unhappy. In addition, we had no hot water for 2 days. Speaking to the receptionist was like pulling teeth. Firstly she said they were not allowed to upgrade our room even though we suggested booking directly with the hotel for the upgrade, then told there were no rooms to move to regardless of view or position in the hotel. Next we were told that there was hot water (there wasn't) and when we rang the reception to confirm again she hung up. This forced me to go in person, again to ask for help. To which I was told it was an outside electrical fault and no one else was complaining(?). We dared to ask for a tea bag in our room and was told that we would have to wait until housekeeping attend the room, this despite the teabags just being around the corner. All in all, she was rude, called us liars and simply didn't care. A polar opposite to all the service staff who went out of their way to help. The hotel itself is still being worked on. There is scaffolding up, lots of OSB board where glass should be, lifts being finished and a lot of builders noise. (see pics) The room, although clean and modern is a bit odd. The bathroom is small, if you have a large frame ( I mean XL, not massive) you'll struggle to sit on the loo. The glass shower screen is very close. The basins are in the main room, not in the bathroom (?). Means you have to wash in the main room, odd especially after using the facilities and more so if you're on the ground floor. Visible to anyone who wants to look in from the road. There is not enough storage, which is odd as the room is plenty big enough. Hardly any hanging room for a tee-shirt, less a dress. I think if they sacked the receptionist, finished building the hotel and sold the sea view rooms cheaper than the others I think it would have been a better choice. Do yourselves a favour, DON'T BOOK A SEA VIEW ROOM. The other rooms seem nicer.
